Video: Final Top 25 high school football rankings See who landed where to end the 2019 season.
In the end, it's unanimous — St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.) is the nation's No. 1 high school football team.
The California Open Division champion — despite having one loss — is a consensus top pick by the five media outlets used to comprise the Top 25 Composite national high school football rankings.
The Braves, who lost to No. 2 Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) in the regular season, exacted revenge on the Monarchs — the top team all season — in the Southern Section finals before handling a game De La Salle (Concord, Calif.) team in the CIF Open Division finals.
The redemption victory over Mater Dei in addition to a resume that includes notable wins
over DeMatha (Hyattsville, Md.), Don Bosco Prep (Ramsey, N.J.), Liberty
(Henderson, Nev.), Our Lady of Good Counsel (Olney, Md.) and its Trinity League foes was too much for other teams to match.
Mater Dei ends up No. 2 while 15-0 St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) jumps to No. 3 in the Composite Top 25. The Raiders wrapped up their first undefeated season since 2010 with a Florida 7A title and capped it with a 35-19 GEICO State Champions Bowl Series win over St. Louis (Honolulu) that snapped the Crusaders' 38-game win streak.
St. Frances Academy (Baltimore) and North Shore (Houston) finish tied for fourth after the Mustangs jumped up three spots following their back-to-back Texas 6A Division 1 title on Saturday.
Only schools recognized by two or more media outlets are eligible for
inclusion in the composite rankings. Teams were assigned a score of 40
for each media outlet that did not recognize them as part of their Top
25, rewarding teams that received consensus acclaim.

St. John Bosco celebrates its CIF Open Division title. The Braves are the consensus top team in high school football, earning all No. 1 picks from the five ranking services in the Composite Top 25.
