High school basketball: Jackson Shelstad from Oregon, Jenna Muha from Pennsylvania headline Stat Freaks

No. 1-ranked girls prospect Juju Watkins also featured.

High school basketball is back and the first month of games saw no shortage of insane statistical performances. We are highlighting some of the top boys and girls performances in this edition of Stat Freaks.

Senior Jackson Shelstad of West Linn (Ore.) tops the list for the boys side after dropping 43 points and picking up eight rebounds in a 73-69 Les Schwab Invitational win over Tualatin Dec. 28.

Shelstad, an Oregon commit, averaged 33.0 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists over four games at the event, leading West Linn to the title with a win over Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, Calif.) in the semifinals and then-No. 1 Duncanville (Texas) in the championship game.

Senior Jenna Muha of Shade (Cairnbrook, Pa.) leads the way on the girls side after putting up 50 points and 27 rebounds in a 72-51 win over North Star on Dec. 16.

Muha averages 34.8 points per game. Earlier in the month, she scored 40 points, pulled down 23 rebounds and recorded nine steals.
