With 342 yards rushing last week, Kellen Overstreet of Penney (Hamilton, Mo.) moved closer to the state single season rushing record in Missouri.
Overstreet, who is among this week's National Stat Stars, already set the state record for touchdowns in a season. With his five touchdowns in a 61-46 win over West Platte last week, Overstreet has 61 touchdowns on the season. His yardage total gives him 3,116 yards, which is 266 yards away from Max Mickey's state record of 3,382 yards, set last year.
Meanwhile, Hunter Lile of Booker (Texas) went over the 10,000 yard milestone for his career. A junior, Lile threw for 423 yards to put his career total at 10,328 yards.
Two more quarterbacks could go over 10,000 career yards this week and they made their way into the national stat stars list. Jake Browning of Folsom threw for 430 yards last week and needs just 374 yards to pass the milestone. Grant Sherman of Kenton (Ohio) threw for 428 yards last week and needs 59 yards to pass 10,000.
