North Carolina and Virginia are hot spots this season in high school basketball when it comes to producing some of the nation's most prolific scorers.
According to statistics submitted to MaxPreps,
Caleb Senyo of
Haywood Christian Academy (Waynesville, N.C.) leads the country in points per game at 37.0. The 6-foot-2 junior guard topped the 50-point mark twice and went over 40 nine times before his season came to and end in February.
Two other North Carolina preps join Senyo in the top 10 while Virginia has three of its own among the nation's leaders.

Tyler Nickel of
East Rockingham (Elkton) is among those representing Virginia. The 6-7 forward saw his season come to an end last weekend but piled up 34.7 points, 9.4 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game during his senior campaign.
