Video: Matt Kalaf scores 24 points two nights after losing fatherNeuse Christian Academy senior inspired and on fire. This has to be one of the most inspirational stories of the high school sports year.
Two nights the death of his father, Bill,
Matt Kalaf took the floor in a basketball game for
Neuse Christian Academy (Raleigh, N.C.).
Having the strength to simply suit up and play would have been heroic enough.
But inspired by his father, Kalaf piled up 24 points in a tough loss to Cape Fear Christian Academy back on Feb. 11. The 6-foot-7 senior knocked down six 3-pointers.
Kalaf will continue his basketball career next year at Division II Urbana College in Ohio.
