Video: Bizarre play in North Carolina soccer match
You probably won't see this at Copa America Centenario.
Nope, your eyes aren't deceiving you.
With her team down 4-1 to Middle Creek in the final minute of the North Carolina Class 4A state semifinal, senior
Erika Snyder of
Athens Drive (Raleigh) was fed up.
Snyder corralled a soccer ball, tucked it inside her shirt and sprinted approximately 50 yards towards the other net to attempt a goal.
The whistle surprisingly never sounded and the match ended seconds later.
It wasn't the first time she had attempted the stunt.
"That was inside the final 60 seconds and it was actually the second time she did it," said Marilyn Payne, who was
on hand to cover the contest for HighSchoolOT.com. "She had done the same thing on the play immediately before the video."
That's certainly a unique way to end your high school athletic career.
