Immanuel Quickley of
John Carroll (Bel Air, Md.) announced Friday that he is committed to John Calipari and the Kentucky Wildcats.
The 6-foot-4, 180-pound senior is regarded as the No. 2 point guard in the country by
247Sports. He made the decision in front of friends and family in a ceremony at John Carroll.
Quickley jumped on the national radar when he was named the Baltimore Sun All-Metro Player of the Year as a sophomore in 2015-16. He averaged over 17 points per game for the Baltimore Catholic League champion Patriots.
That summer, he earned a spot on USA Basketball's U17 FIBA World Championship team, appearing in six games for the eventual gold medal-winning outfit.
As a junior at John Carroll, Quickley stepped up his production to 23.7 points and 7.2 assists per game.
In addition to Kentucky, Kansas and Miami were among the primary players in his recruitment. Quickley is UK's first pledge from a player in the Class of 2018.
