AJ Duffy, Quinn Ewers, Walker Howard, Cade Klubnik, Maalik Murphy, Ty Simpson and Conner Weigman headline the list of 20 high school quarterbacks selected to compete at the Elite 11 finals. The annual event will be from June 30 through July 3 in Los Angeles.
The yearly competition of some of the best prep gunslingers includes four five-stars and features eight quarterbacks rated in the Top 100 overall on 247Sports composite rankings.
Three of the 20 selections are uncommitted with the most notable being Kirby's (Memphis) Tevin Carter. He has landed over 20 FBS offers that include Auburn, LSU, Michigan, Tennessee, and Texas A&M.
Carter and the other 19 participants look to join past greats such as Justin Fields, Mark Sanchez, Matt Stafford, Tua Tagovailoa, Caleb Williams and Jameis Winston named Elite 11 MVP.
Texas leads the way with four quarterback selected followed by California, Georgia, and Tennessee with three each.

The future Nittany Lion has had a good past few weeks. He punched his ticket to the Elite 11 finals and on May 11
announced on Twitter his participation in the 2022 All-American Bowl. Allar finished his junior season throwing for nearly 3,000 yards and 26 touchdowns while leading Medina to the Ohio Division 1 quarterfinals.

He threw for nearly 2,000 yards and 18 touchdowns during his junior season while completing over 65 percent of his passes. He recently transferred to the Utah power for his senior year after previously playing at Queen Creek (Ariz.).

The four-star quarterback has been making an impact since his freshman year playing against the best competition in Georgia. As a sophomore, he led Lowndes to the AAAAAAA state championship game and the semifinals this past season. He enters his senior season with 6,710 yards of total offense (3,387 passing, 3,323 rushing) and 72 total touchdowns (28 passing, 44 rushing).

One of three uncommitted quarterbacks heading into the event, Carter has one of the strongest arms out of all the quarterbacks competing. He didn't get an opportunity to play for Kirby during his junior year because the pandemic canceled the season but found a place to play quarterback for the PURE Youth Athletics Team last fall.

The last time Duffy played in a high school football game that counted was during his sophomore season in 2019. He didn't compete this past year when California moved football to the spring. He transferred to IMG Academy over the winter. He started under center for Rancho Verde (Moreno Valley, Calif.) as a freshman and threw for over 5,500 and 66 touchdowns in 25 games while completing over 70 percent of his passes. Duffy will have IMG Academy, the MaxPreps National Champions, in contention to repeat in 2021.

Ewers helped lead the Dragons to a 6A runner-up finish last season and was named the
MaxPreps Sophomore Player of the Year in 2019.

He was one of the most impressive quarterbacks competing in the Los Angeles regional last week against a very competitive field. The three-star quarterback helped the Braves to a 5-1 spring season and threw for over 700 yards and seven touchdowns while splitting time with

MaxPreps Louisiana Football Player of the Year after throwing for 3,430 yards and 39 touchdowns. He led the Cougars to their second consecutive Division II state title and a spot at No. 24 in the final MaxPreps Top 25 rankings.

Not only is Johnson one of the best football players in the country, he is also a track star. Earlier this spring he posted a 10.4 time in the 100 meters, the the state's fastest. MaxPreps Junior All-America first team after leading Westlake to a 14-0 record and 6A Division 1 state title. The four-star quarterback accounted for over 4,000 yards of total offense and 50 touchdowns while leading the Chaps to a spot at No. 3 in the final MaxPreps Top 25 rankings.

Earlier this summer Murphy showed off his arm strength, winning the long ball contest competing at Steve Clarkson's annual QB Retreat event with a 79 yard toss. He took over as the full-time starter during his junior season in the spring and threw for over 1,200 yards and nine touchdowns.
