Newport Harbor (Newport Beach, Calif.) is the new No. 1 in this week's Top 25 high school girls flag football Top 25. After two early season losses, the Sailors have won 22-straight games and are playing their best as CIF Southern Section playoffs begin next week.
Alabama is off and rolling and so is
Central (Phenix City, Ala.) as the Red Devils make their way into the Top 25. Senior three-sport star, and an Alabama softball commit,
Gerritt Griggs, has already thrown for over 1,500 yards and 40 TDs in just 10 games.
Saint Joseph (Lakewood, Calif.) closed out the regular season with a 21-0 record. Sophomore QB
Lexi Loya had 14 games where she eclipsed the 200 yard passing mark. She has now thrown for 4,763 yards and 67 TDs.
MaxPreps has recently
partnered with USA Football to recognize a national player of the week. In order to be considered, statistical information has to be submitted to MaxPreps.
Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia and Illinois sanction flag football in the fall.
