High school volleyball has tossed up the first serve on the 2022 season
as several states have begun play with more on the way in the coming
weeks. MaxPreps is again spotlighting the best player in each state.
From
All-Americans to up-and-comers, players were identified based on last
year's statistical data provided to MaxPreps,
as well as local, state or national honors from multiple media outlets.
You
could make the case that some, if not all, states could list out
multiple players deserving of the honor. However, we've attempted to
narrow it down to just one player per state set to serve, bump or spike
it up this year.
Alabama Blakeley Robbins, Bayside Academy (Daphne)
5-10 | Senior (Class of 2024) | UncommittedCaptain of the Admirals' 21st straight title dished up 1,479 assists and added 150 kills as Bayside went 48-14. She was the state tournament MVP with 57 assists in the title match along with 11 digs, four kills and four aces.
Alaska
Marija Wunnicke, South Anchorage (Anchorage)
5-8 | Senior (Class of 2024) | UncommittedThe libero helped the Wolverines to a 30-23-3 mark and fifth-place finish in the state tournament with 406 digs and 720 serve receives along with 52 assists and 55 aces. The state 4A tournament's Outstanding Defensive Specialist and All-Tournament nod teams with
Allison Ward again (191 kills) looking to compete in what should be a wide open slate this season.
Arizona
Evan Hendrix, Notre Dame Prep (Scottsdale)
5-8 | Senior (Class of 2024) | TCUThe Saints moved from 4A (where they won a 2021 title) to 5A and the future Horned Frog led them to the state semifinals. She pounded 557 kills in 2022 for the 27-15 Saints and averaged five kills per set.
Arkansas
Regan Harp, Fayetteville
6-1 | Senior (Class of 2024) | Central ArkansasThough the Bulldogs graduated two MaxPreps All-Americans, Harp gets the nod here because of the winning pedigree. A three-time state champion and Arkansas Democrat Gazette first-team All-State choice last year, she had 223 kills, 106 digs, team-best 55 blocks and 28 aces.
California
Charlie Fuerbringer, Mira Costa (Manhattan Beach)
5-11 | Senior (Class of 2024) | WisconsinNot only did the daughter of two college All-Americans lead the Mustangs to a 38-5 record and No. 8 finish in the MaxPreps Top 25, she helped the school to the inaugural CIF Southern Section beach volleyball title. In the fall, she had 119 kills, 24 blocks and 284 digs and was the Torrance Daily Breeze's Female Athlete of the year and the L.A. Times' Volleyball Player of the Year. She recently helped the USA Volleyball U19 team to a gold medal at the FIVB Girls U19 World Championships.
Colorado
Chloe Elarton, Valor Christian (Highlands Ranch)
5-11 | Junior (Class of 2025) | GeorgiaThe Eagles' setter notched 784 assists, 205 digs, 77 kills and 59 aces for the Colorado 5A champion. She tallied double-digit assists in all but two matches as her squad went 29-0.
Connecticut
Aubrey Moore, Darien
5-9 | Senior (Class of 2024) | UncommittedThe Blue Wave's setter helped the program bring a banner back to campus after an eight-year drought. She tossed 31 assists and was the final's MVP as well as the MVP of the FCIAC title game. For the season, she had 734 assists (9.2 per set), 140 digs, 86 aces and 34 kills.
Delaware
Taylor Holly, St. Mark's (Wilmington)
5-3 | Senior (Class of 2024) | UncommittedOne of three underclassmen to make the DIAA All-State team, the libero led the Spartans in aces (39) and digs (83) as they advanced to the state finals. She's a two-time first team all-conference honoree and two-time all-state selection.
District of Columbia
Jada Aksu, Georgetown Day
6-0 | Junior (Class of 2025) | UncommittedThe Mighty Hoppers went 22-3 last season, thanks in large part to the hitting of Aksu. As a sophomore, she hammered 198 kills as her squad went 22-3 and won the DCSAA title. She's had a big club season and looks to pair with senior

Sophie-Katherine Harvey, Pope (Marietta)
6-1 | Senior (Class of 2024) | UncommittedThe MaxPreps Underclass All-American helped the Greyhounds to the AAAAAA title with 536 kills, 328 digs and 39 aces. The Marietta Daily Journal Player of the Year passed the 1,000-kill career mark and has 739 digs as Pope finished No. 13 in the final MaxPreps Top 25.
Hawaii
Cha'lei Reid, Kahuku
6-0 | Junior (Class of 2025) | UncommittedThe outside hitter is proof that the Red Raiders aren't just a football power as she helped the squad to a 15-1 mark and reached the Division I semifinals. She had 140 kills in nine reported matches and was a first-team All-State pick by Scoring Live.
Idaho
Alex Bower, Skyview (Nampa)
5-10 | Senior (Class of 2024) | UncommittedThe Skyhawks won their third straight title, and fifth in seven years, along with competing on a national stage in 2022 behind the then-junior setter. Her favorite target was Alex Acevedo, who left early to play at Oregon, as Bower tossed up 578 assists and added 94 digs and 66 kills.
Illinois
Ellie White, Mother McAuley (Chicago)
6-0 | Senior (Class of 2024) | MichiganA go-to hitter for the Mighty Macs all season, the future Wolverine came up big when the lights were the brightest. The Prepvolleyball.com 2024 Player of the Year led the program to its 16th state banner and pounded out 542 kills along with 289 digs and 103 blocks.
Indiana
Lauren Harden, Hamilton Southeastern (Fishers)
6-3 | Junior (Class of 2024) | FloridaA two-time MaxPreps All-American, Harden helped the Royals go 34-1 and win the Indiana 4A title. She hammered 337 kills during the season, hitting at 32 percent.

Skyler Pierce, Olathe Northwest (Olathe)
6-3 | Senior (Class of 2024) | NebraskaThe third-rated player nationally by PrepDig, she hammered 488 kills as the Ravens went 26-9 in a competitive Kansas field. Pierce, who had a dynamite club season, added 248 digs, 44 blocks and 44 aces in her 2022 high school season.
Kentucky
Charlotte Moriarty, Assumption (Louisville)
5-11 | Senior (Class of 2024) | UncommittedStepped into the leading role when Sydney Helmers left the team prior to the start of last season. Moriarty didn't miss a beat, pounding 383 kills with 353 digs for the Rockets, who went 34-8 against a grueling national schedule.
Louisiana
Camryn Chatellier, St. Mary's Dominican (New Orleans)
5-10 | Senior (Class of 2024) | UncommittedLeading hitter on a team that captured its third straight Division I state title, Chatellier posted a team-best 402 kills with 32 blocks and 281 digs. She had 21 kills in the state finals win as St. Mary's Dominican went 36-3.
Maine
Danielle Emerson, Biddeford
5-8 | Senior (Class of 2024) | UncommittedThe Tigers went 18-0 and grabbed the Class A title behind the junior hitter. She tallied 148 kills, 113 assists, 53 aces, 94 digs and 16 blocks on the season. In the finals, the two-time conference MVP had 15 digs, 12 kills and seven assists as Biddeford swept Gorham.
Maryland
Emmi Sellman, The Academy of the Holy Cross (Kensington)
6-4 | Senior (Class of 2024) | Ohio StateThe Washington Post All-Met Player of the Year posted 339 kills, 188 digs, 53 aces and 50 blocks as the Tartans went 24-2 and grabbed the WCAC tournament title in 2022. She hammered 30 kills in a September win and twice topped the 24-kill mark.
Massachusetts
Quinn Anderson, Westborough6-0 | Senior (Class of 2024) | Uncommitted
A coaches association All-State pick for the third time, she led the Rangers to a 21-0 mark while capturing the Division II crown. Anderson is 53-1 in her prep career and had 322 kills (5.3 per set), 144 digs and 48 aces in 2022.
Michigan

6-3 | Junior (Class of 2025) | NebraskaWhile
Izzy Busignani of
Marian (Bloomfield Hills) deserves mention, the Marlins' setter was a do-everything and gets the nod. The future Husker, who was part of the USA Volleyball U19 gold-medal team, tossed up 666 assists while adding a team-leading 344 kills as they went 31-11 in a stacked Division 1 field.
Minnesota
Stella Swenson, Wayzata (Plymouth)
6-1 | Senior (Class of 2024) | MinnesotaThe Trojans grabbed a second straight Class AAAA title in their 30-4 2022 campaign behind the setter's 888 assists. She added 223 digs, 138 kills, 74 blocks and 49 aces. The future Golden Gopher is a three-time first-team all-state pick.
Mississippi
Kaylee Lowther, Jackson Academy (Jackson)
5-3 | Senior (Class of 2024) | Southern MissThe libero transferred from Germantown and helped the Raiders to their fourth straight MAIS 6A title. The All-MAIS Division I selection tallied 593 digs, 552 receives, 96 aces, 93 assists on the season. Coach Melissa Denson said she has Power 5 talent but chose to stay close by committing to the Golden Eagles.
Missouri
Carlie Cisneros, Liberty North (Liberty)
6-1 | Senior (Class of 2024) | ArizonaOne of the top rated hitters in her class dropped 534 kills and added 425 digs in 2022 as the 31-6 Eagles reached the Class 5 semifinals. She tallied a .391 kill rate and is a three-time all-state nod. She enters her senior season with 1,237 kills.
Montana
Sydney Pierce, Billings West (Billings)
6-4 | Senior (Class of 2024) | MontanaAn all-state choice in both volleyball and basketball, the middle blocker helped the Golden Bears to a Class AA runner-up finish in 2022. She has nearly 500 career kills along with more than 175 digs and 60 blocks.
Nebraska
Lauren Medeck, Papillion-LaVista South (Papillion)
5-10 | Senior (Class of 2024) | South DakotaThe top-rated player from Nebraska according to PrepDig, she led the Titans in 2022 with 461 kills as they repeated as Class A champions. She enters her final prep season with 1,147 kills.
Nevada
Leilia Toailoa, Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas)
6-1 | Senior (Class of 2024) | AlabamaA first-team All-State pick by the Nevada Preps, she had 434 kills with 55 blocks and 356 digs as Gorman went 25-13 in 2022.
New Hampshire
Lindsey Healey, Bedford
5-11 | Senior (Class of 2024) | UncommittedThe Bulldogs enter 2023 riding a 50-game win streak as back-to-back unbeaten state champions with Healey as the leader of that squad. She pounded 352 kills and a .567 kill percentage along with 148 digs.
New Jersey
Kalena Stavish, Immaculate Heart Academy (Washington Township)
5-8 | Senior (Class of 2024) | UncommittedThe Blue Eagles went 29-1 and took home the Non-Public A title — their 14th in 15 years — on her ace in 2022. The setter had 720 assists on the year and was on the giving end of Brooklyn Talmadge's 323 kills as she grabbed MaxPreps New Jersey Player of the Year honors.
New Mexico
Karyna Werley, La Cueva (Albuquerque)
5-9 | Junior (Class of 2025) | UncommittedTook over the offense for the Bears in 2022 and helped them to a 29-0 mark and repeat as 5A champions. She tallied 815 assists along with 45 aces and 81 kills. In the 5A title match, she found hitters 42 times with 13 digs and three blocks.
New York
Reagan Ennist, Shenendehowa (Clifton Park)
6-2 | Junior (Class of 2025) | UncommittedThe state leader in kills with 497, she helped the Plainsmen to a 46-5-1 mark and a Class AA title, the school's first. Along with nearly 500 kills, the Class AA All-State first-teamer posted 273 digs and 83 blocks.
North Carolina
Kiki Horne, Millbrook (Raleigh)
6-1 | Senior (Class of 2024) | UCLAA Class 4A title, a 29-1 mark and MVP honors in the state final were all notches on her belt this past season. The Wildcats' outside hitter smacked 522 kills along with 220 digs, 44 aces and 37 blocks while hitting .455.
North Dakota
Hannah Litzinger, Red River (Grand Forks)
5-10 | Junior (Class of 2025) | UncommittedThe all-state first teamer had 308 kills, 418 digs, 28 blocks and 62 service aces this season as her team went 17-18 last season. She was also a Grand Forks Herald All-City first-team pick for the state champion Roughriders in basketball. She led the team in rebounding.
Ohio
Alec Rothe, Dublin Scioto (Dublin)
6-2 | Senior (Class of 2024) | FloridaA three-sport standout (basketball and lacrosse), the future Gator led the 20-5 Irish with 341 kills (4.3 per set) while grabbing second-team All-State honors from the Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Association. She also sent back a team-high 80 blocks.
Oklahoma
Kathrin Rowe, Edmond Memorial (Edmond)
5-7 | Junior (Class of 2025) | UncommittedThe 30-5 Bulldogs grabbed their first state title since 2016 behind the tournament MVP. The outside hitter had 424 kills, 350 digs and 41 aces while also posting 337 assists in a half season at setter.
Oregon
Paige Theis, Oregon City
6-2 | Junior (Class of 2025) | ArizonaThe lone non-senior named to either the first or second team all-state squads, she's PrepDig's top-rated player in her class. She helped the Pioneers to a 20-5 mark, a 6A consolation title and smashed 21 kills and hit .826 in a playoff match.
Pennsylvania
Sophia Schweikert, Upper Merion Area (King of Prussia)
6-1 | Junior (Class of 2025) | UncommittedSecond overall in the state in kills with 602, she passed the 1,000-kill mark in 2022 for the 25-9 Vikings. A hitting machine, the first-team AAAA All-State nod had double-digit kills in 26 matches including a high (twice) of 37. She added 64 aces, 32 blocks and 317 digs to her stats in 2022.
Rhode Island
Annie Draper, North Kingstown
5-10 | Senior (Class of 2024) | UncommittedThe Skippers' Division I crown capped a stellar year for the six-rotation outside hitter who posted 206 kills, 152 digs and 22 aces. She compiled 12 double-digit kill matches as North Kingstown went 18-2.
South Carolina

5-9 | Senior (Class of 2024) | UncommittedThe captain dished up 968 assists with 42 aces, 189 digs and 142 kills as the Mavericks went 32-7 and won the Class 5A title.

5-10 | Senior (Class of 2024) | UncommittedA second-team South Dakota Volleyball Coaches Association All-State selection at setter, she averaged 9.6 assists per set and 1,019 total on the season. She added 84 kills and 289 digs for the 27-5 Warriors.

6-3 | Junior (Class of 2025) | UncommittedThe younger sister of fellow MaxPreps All-American Addison, she led the team in kills with 659 as the Blue Raiders went 49-5 with a Division I Class AAA state title. Additionally, she chipped in 354 digs, 94 aces and 61 blocks.

Macaria Spears, Prestonwood Christian (Plano)
6-0 | Junior (Class of 2025) | UncommittedShe was brilliant with 544 kills for the TAPPS 6A champions. The Lions, who finished No. 7 in the MaxPreps Top 25, also got 225 digs, 65 blocks and 50 aces from their sophomore. She was the Dallas Morning News Player of the Year in addition to a slate of all-state and district honors as she pounded 23 kills in the title match.
Utah
Taylor Harvey, Bountiful
6-3 | Junior (Class of 2025) | UncommittedYounger sister of MaxPreps All-American Jordyn Harvey, she was second on the 29-2 Redhawks with 292 kills while adding 137 digs and 86 blocks. The USA Volleyball U19 national team member is also a basketball standout leading Bountiful to a Class 5A title while averaging a team-high 14.8 points.
Vermont
Izzy Nerad, Essex (Essex Junction)
6-1 | Senior (Class of 2024) | UncommittedThe Hornets' junior was a catalyst behind their unbeaten season and state title. In the finals against Champlain Valley Union, the MaxPreps Vermont Player of the Year had nine kills and a pair of aces.

5-10 | Senior (Class of 2024) | UncommittedThe VISAA Division I Player of the Year was second on the Huskies in kills with 281. She added 55 aces, 257 digs and 372 serve receives as her squad went unbeaten to grab the Division I title.
Washington
Danielle Brown, Puyallup
6-3 | Senior (Class of 2024) | Santa ClaraThe future Bronco showed out all year with 301 kills, 83 solo blocks and 113 overall blocks to help the Vikings go 36-1 and reach the state semifinals. She was a catalyst in the Vikings' unbeaten regular season.
West Virginia
Abby Dillon, Woodrow Wilson (Beckley)
5-4 | Junior (Class of 2025) | UncommittedA four-sport athlete (basketball, soccer and tennis), she tossed up 1,106 assists for the Flying Eagles, who finished 36-13-3 on the season. The West Virginia Sportswriters Association first-team All-State pick also averaged 13.3 points per night for the basketball team.
Wisconsin
Lilly Wagner, Oconomowoc
6-0 | Senior (Class of 2024) | MarylandThe Raccoons went 39-2 and spent much of the season in the MaxPreps Top 25 thanks in part to Wagner's setting. She dished up 1,075 assists, more than 10 per set. She also added 247 digs, 114 kills and 40 aces. A nod to 6-3 Divine Savior Holy Angels hitter Madison Quest is due for helping the Dashers to the Division 1 title, the first since 2015.
Wyoming
Maddy Stucky, Laramie
5-11 | Senior (Class of 2024) | WyomingYounger sister of 2021 MaxPreps All-American Alexis Stucky, the setter helped the Plainsmen to a 27-8 mark in 2022. She dished up 892 assists with 261 digs, 143 kills and 61 blocks. She's a three-time Class 4A All-State recipient and chose to stay in state for college.
