High school girls basketball: CIF San Diego Section playoff brackets

Eighty-one teams in six divisions will take part in the 2021 San Diego Section boys basketball playoffs which begin Wednesday and concludes June 10-12.

Top seed Cathedral Catholic-San Diego (16-3) and No. 2 La Jolla Country Day (15-3) lead an eight-team Open Division, which begins Friday. The combined record of the eight teams are 137-37 and features a superb first-round match-up between fifth-seed Carlsbad (16-4) at No. 4 Mission Hills-San Marcos (20-5).

All eight Open teams will advance to Southern California regional action, which takes place June 14-19. For the second straight year, there will be no California Interscholastic Federation State Championship games played due to the pandemic.

The top seeds in the other divisions are San Marcos (Division I, 11-7 record), Academy of Our Lady of Peace-San Diego  (Division II, 14-4), Fallbrook (Division III, 19-7), Maranatha Christian-San Diego (Division IV, 13-6) and Victory Christian Academy-Chula Vista (Division V, 10-6).
