No. 1 Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) had one of the toughest non-league schedules in the country and the Monarchs breezed past it going 5-0 and winning by an average of 36 points per game. The wins came against Centennial (Corona, Calif.), Villa Park (Calif.), Centennial (Peoria, Ariz.), St. Frances Academy (Baltimore) and St. John's (Washington, D.C.).

There was only one Top 25 matchup last week and No. 5 St. Frances Academy (Baltimore) recorded its fourth shutout of the season with a 28-0 win over St. Joseph Regional (Montvale, N.J.). The loss dropped the Green Knights from 12 to 21.

Mallard Creek (Charlotte, N.C.) was the only new team to join the Top 25 as the Mavericks improved to 4-0-1 after beating a previously undefeated Zebulon B. Vance (Charlotte) squad 17-7.

No. 6 St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) got its fourth consecutive double-digit win beating Carol City (Miami) 45-24. Junior cornerback Ja'Den McBurrows recorded a pick six for the third straight game and the Raiders scored three defensive or special teams scores.

Lowndes (Valdosta, Ga.) moved up five spots to No. 16 after shutting out Valdosta (Ga.) 24-0 to hand them the first loss of the season. The Vikings are 6-0 this season and have won every game by at least 24 points.
