Coming into Friday night's Dallas-area showdown, the
Cedar Hill (Texas) Longhorns knew that the
DeSoto (Texas) offense was good. They probably didn't know it was
this good.
The Eagles, ranked No. 6 in the
MaxPreps Xcellent 25, rolled to a 47-13 road victory thanks to 342 total yards and three total touchdowns from senior quarterback
Desmon White. The 5-foot-8, 155-pound playmaker passed for 228 yards and rushed for 114 more.
Running back
Jatory Sparks-Brown added three touchdowns on the ground for DeSoto, while
Kevin Thomas caught four passes including a touchdown.
Peter Lewis rushed for 97 yards and two touchdowns in the loss for Cedar Hill.

The potent Eagles offense was on display early, as White immediately went to work on the game's opening drive. He completed a 13-yard pass to
Akile Davis on the game's first play, rushed for 12 yards on third-and-1 and hit
Chris Lacy on a 12-yard pass to set up first-and-goal.
Jaimon Peterson finished off the quick opening scoring drive with a 5-yard touchdown run. The Eagles failed the 2-point conversion and went up 6-0.
See the Qwixcore game logAfter forcing a punt the DeSoto offense took over once again and looked to be heading towards another score after White hit Sparks-Brown for a 24-yard completion on a third-and-14 to get the Eagles to midfield. But the Cedar Hill defense buckled down, capitalizing on a DeSoto penalty to force a turnover on downs.
The Cedar Hill offense fed off the momentum, putting together a 12-play scoring drive with Hill doing much of the damage on the ground and
Justin McMillan finishing it off with a six-yard pass to
Damarkus Lodge.
Brooks Ralph's extra point sailed through to give the Longhorns a 7-6 lead with 10:52 left in the second quarter.
Sparks-Brown and White were the stars again on the next DeSoto possession, as the Eagles marched 80 yards in just nine plays and ended with a 19-yard touchdown run by Sparks-Brown. White completed the 2-point conversion pass to Peterson, and the Eagles went back up 14-7 with 7:56 left.

White's 24-yard pass to Peterson got the Eagles to the 6, and after three Peterson runs failed to get into the end zone, Sparks-Brown broke through for a two-yard touchdown on fourth down to give the Eagles a 21-7 halftime lead.
The second half opened on a sour note for Cedar Hill, as a fumbled punt gave DeSoto the ball on the Cedar Hill 4, and Sparks-Brown quickly broke into the end zone on a 1-yard run to extend the lead to 28-7.

Following a McMillan interception on the next possession, the Eagles scored on just three plays, two passes and an 8-yard touchdown run from White, and the rout was on with 6:11 left in the third.
White added two more touchdowns, a 28-yard run and a 13-yard pass to Thomas, to put the Eagles up 47-7 with 11:50 left in the game.
Cedar Hill's final two scores, a 1-yard run and a 21-yard run by Lewis, came with the game well out of reach.
DeSoto (4-0) came into the game averaging more than 50 points per game. According to the
Dallas Morning News, White had 364 passing yards and 112 yards on the ground with six touchdowns in just the first half the Eagles' 61-35 blowout of perennial power Trinity (Euless) last week. Cedar Hill (2-2) has now seen two of the best in the state, having already lost to national No. 2 Allen earlier this season.
Both teams were still alive deep into the month of December last season. Cedar Hill finished 11-5 after losing to Katy in the 5A/II state championship game. DeSoto was 14-1 with only a 5A/I state semifinal loss to eventual champion Allen. Coming into the game, the rivals had split their last eight games played since 2004. DeSoto has now won the last three matchups, including a 48-35 triumph last season.
DeSoto will head to South Grand Prairie next week while Cedar Hill travels to Duncanville.
