DeSoto, 14-0 and 4-0 in these playoffs, advances to UIL semifinals next weekend against Klein Collins (Spring, Texas), which edged Westfield (Texas) on Friday in another state quarterfinal game.
Cedar Hill, which lost only to DeSoto and No. 1 Bishop Gorman during the regular season, finishes at 11-3. Despite the two previous losses, it won three straight playoff games and nine in a row overall to reach Saturday's quarterfinal and UIL Region 1 championship.
DeSoto is now 5-2 in its last seven games against Cedar Hill in one of the state's premier football rivalries. The neighboring towns are located 15 miles south of Dallas.
