See new Ohio State wide receiver commitment in action.
Ohio State is making more major moves.
Five-star receivers
Tyjon Lindsey of
Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) and
Trevon Grimes of
St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) both announced their commitments to the Buckeyes via Twitter Monday morning.
The explosive Lindsey is the nation's fifth-rated receiver and 24th overall prospect. He posted 1,117 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns last season in guiding the No. 3 Gaels to their seventh-consecutive Nevada state title.
Ohio State simply felt like home for Lindsey, he said.
"That's where my family is," Lindsey told MaxPreps. "Tate Martell, Haskell Garrett, Trevon Grimes, and my family in Cleveland."
The towering Grimes (6-foot-4) is the nation's third-ranked receiver and 15th overall prospect in the 2017 class. He recorded 496 receiving yards and seven touchdowns in leading the No. 1 Raiders to their second-consecutive Florida Class 7A state title.
The Buckeyes' presumable future signal-caller Tate Martell is overjoyed that teammate Lindsey is coming to Columbus.
"Those are my guys," Martell told MaxPreps. "Obviously, with Tyjon that is my best friend and brother. So I love that he's going to be with me for the next four years. With Trevon, we've gotten to know each other pretty well and are actually pretty close now. So those two guys are huge for me."
Ohio State now has seven five-star commits and own the nation's No. 1 recruiting class,
according to Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports.
