It was a dominant week for Top 25 teams. They went a collective 16-1 with the lone loss coming against a ranked opponent. In the 16 wins teams outscored the opposition 780-96.
The only matchup of ranked teams went down in the DMV area between St. John's (Washington, D.C.) and Gonzaga (Washington, D.C.) with the WCAC regular season title on the line. The Cadets' scored 14 unanswered points in the final six minutes to knock off the Eagles 32-28. St. John's finished the year 4-0 in the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference to claim its third consecutive outright regular season title.
The win moved the Cadets up one spot to No. 24 and the loss for Gonzaga dropped them four spots to 25.
Texas and Georgia both finished up the regular season. No. 3 Duncanville (Texas), No. 8 Katy (Texas), No. 9 North Shore (Houston), No. 11 Allen (Texas), and No. 20 Southlake Carroll (Texas) are all in the 6A Division 1 playoff bracket.
No. 23 Longview (Texas) has won 26 consecutive games heading into the 6A Division 2 postseason bracket as they Lobos look to defend its state title. They play a very tough 9-2 Temple (Texas) squad on Nov. 15 in the opening round.
No. 12 Lowndes (Valdosta, Ga.) and No. 18 McEachern (Powder Springs, Ga.) are both in the Georgia 7A playoff bracket that begins on Nov. 15.
