So much for the big match-up between nationally ranked
Montrose Christian (Rockville, Md.) and
Findlay Prep (Henderson, Nev.).
Linden (N.J.) spoiled that big game with a huge 57-53 victory over No. 5 Montrose Christian Friday night at the PrimeTime Shootout in Union, N.J.
According to NJ.com, J.R. Pringley matched his season high with 21 points and freshman Quadri Moore drilled four 3-pointers and scored 18 points for the winners, who made 11 of 16 attempts from beyond the arc.
This year's event features 31 teams and 17 games over three days at Kean University. Four of the Top 10 teams in this
week's Xcellent 25 are in action, including No. 1
St. Patrick (Elizabeth, N.J.), No. 2
St. Anthony (Jersey City, N.J.) and Saturday's showdown between Montrose Christian and No. 10 Findlay Prep.
"We're just a bunch of neighborhood kids who've grown up together playing with one another, but we're playing for a cause," Linden coach Phil Colicchio told NJ.com.
Linden lost to St. Anthony 56-43 earlier this week.
