Here's a look at developments that shaped this week's Top 25:

Shadow Mountain (Phoenix) captured its third consecutive state championship Saturday with a comeback for the ages. Trailing by as many as 22 points in the third quarter, and 17 heading into the fourth, the Matadors took down Salpointe Catholic (Tucson, Ariz.) 83-79. Jaelen House, a 2019 Arizona State commit, led the charge with any eye-popping 32 points and 14 steals.

Shadow Mountain essentially clinches their spot in GEICO Nationals next month with the victory. The Matadors will return for their second consecutive national tournament, looking for their first win after falling to Montverde Academy (Montverde, Fla.) in the first round last year. House will have extra incentive to bring Shadow Mountain its first win at the national tournament as the 6-foot guard missed last year's game while serving a one-game suspension after an ejection in the state championship game.

Forty-One and Done

Bishop Montgomery (Torrance, Calif.) lost for the first time this season, and the first time in 41 games dating back to a Jan. 16, 2017 loss against Montverde Academy in the Hoophall Classic. The Knights fell to Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, Calif.) 77-74 in double-overtime in the CIF Southern Section Open Division semifinals.

Sierra Canyon was paced by a balanced effort led by 2018 Ohio State commit Duane Washington Jr., who finished with 20 points and hit a ridiculous 3-pointer as time expired to send things into a second overtime. Kenyon Martin Jr. also played a crucial role in the win, finishing with 18 points and 21 rebounds and making the go-ahead bucket in double overtime.

Sierra Canyon is the only new team in this week's rankings after the huge win and has an opportunity to further build their resume Friday in the CIF Southern Section Open Division title game against Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.).

Paul VI falls in WCAC semifinals after undefeated regular season

Gonzaga (Washington, D.C.) flipped the script in Sunday's first WCAC semifinal with a 68-68 win over regular season champions Paul VI (Fairfax, Va.), which was undefeated in conference play this season.

In the other semifinal, DeMatha (Hyattsville, Md.) took down Bishop O'Connell (Arlington, Va.) 74-63 behind 34 points from 6-foot-3 junior guard Justin Moore. DeMatha meets Gonzaga tonight in a grudge match of their regular season meetings. Gonzaga looks to repeat as WCAC tournament champions and capture its third in the last four seasons.

Greensboro Day upsets Wesleyan Christian, wins NCISAA state title

Greensboro Day (Greensboro, N.C.) captured its record 10th NCISAA state championship Saturday, upsetting previous No. 20 Wesleyan Christian Academy (High Point, N.C.) 67-53.

Despite dropping two previous meetings to Wesleyan Christian this season, Greensboro Day head coach Freddy Johnson is now 67-10 all time against Wesleyan Christian, and has an overall record of 1,019-290. Johnson and the Bengals won back-to-back state titles for the third time in program history, winning previously in 1989-1990 and 1995-1996.

The championship game appearance was Greensboro Day's sixth in the last seven years, with the Bengals going 3-3 in title game appearances over that span. The championship showdown with Wesleyan Christian was also the fifth championship game matchup between the two schools in that time frame with Greensboro Day now 3-2 in those crucial meetings.
