After playing four games in a shortened 2020 high school football season, Caledonia (Minn.) is poised to move up the all-time list of most consecutive wins. With 71 straight victories (including one by forfeit), the Warriors start the season No. 9 all-time and top the MaxPreps list of the Top 25 active win streaks.
Should they win nine more consecutive games, Caledonia would move into fourth place all-time behind De La Salle (Concord, Calif.) with 151, Independence (Charlotte, N.C.) with 109 and South Panola (Batesville, Miss.) with 89. Smith Center (Kan.) is No. 4 with 79 straight wins.
Corner Canyon, the No. 24 team in the MaxPreps Top 25 and fifth on the active wins list, begins its season Friday with a chance to win its 41st straight games. The Chargers travel to Farmington for their season opener and are eight victories from breaking Duchesne's Utah mark of 48 straight.
Southern Columbia Area (Catawissa, Pa.) is second with 60 wins in a row. The Tigers have won four straight state championships and are favored to do so again. South Columbia Area holds the state record for most state championships in Pennsylvania with 11. The Tigers are also six wins away from tying Clairton for most consecutive wins in state history.
Fyffe (Ala.) is third with 45 wins in a row, which ranks as the sixth-longest streak in state history. No. 4 Kirtland (Ohio) has 41 wins in a row, which ranks eighth in state history.
Southern Columbia Area, celebrating a 2019 championship, has run its win streak to 60. The Tigers are seven wins from the overall state mark.
