See high school photos of the MLB star. The Xcellent 25 National Baseball Rankings presented by the Army National Guard turn 50 this week with 50 teams making the rankings. One thing that hasn't changed, however, is the No. 1 team in the nation.
Coppell did not play last week and thus remains at No. 1, but upset losses were abundant last week, resulting in eight teams joining the rankings. No team had a bigger upset than Mira Costa (Manhattan Beach, Calif.), which knocked off previous No. 6 JSerra Catholic in the finals of the Boras Classic South Division tournament. Mira Costa joins this week's rankings at No. 14.
Providence, South Caldwell, Katy, Stillwater and Clovis all suffered their first losses of the season last week, but all five teams remain in this week's expanded rankings.
