Richardson (Texas) made an early-season statement Saturday night by stunning
AZ Compass Prep (Chandler, Ariz.) – No. 1 in the MaxPreps National Top 20 encompassing academy and independent programs – 61-38 in a dominant showing at the Thanksgiving Hoopfest at Dickie's Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.

Rylan Griffen helped the Eagles jump out to a 30-12 lead at the half after scoring 20 of his game-high 26 points. Five-star Kentucky signee
Cason Wallace chipped in 22 points and was the catalyst in the second half.
The dynamic one-two punch never gave the Dragons hope, methodically stretching their lead throughout the contest and quickly countering a third-quarter run.
Richardson improved to 7-0 on the year and made a strong
case for the No. 1 spot in next week's ranking after manhandling the AZ Compass Prep. The Eagles return to the court Nov. 30 to host Memorial (Frisco).
After narrowly escaping with a 74-69 victory over McKinney on Friday
night, the loss drops the Dragons to 9-1 on the season. AZ Compass Prep
has struggled to find chemistry early and found very little success on the offensive end in the lopsided loss.
