MaxPreps 2015 All-American Softball Team

Second Team P - Erin Gallo, St. Peter-Marian (Worcester, Mass.), Sr.
Gallo led Guardians to a state title and unbeaten season in earning state Player of Year honors, as well as the state's Gatorade award. She finished the season with 255 strikeouts and a 0.19 ERA. She will attend Phillips Academy in 2015-16.

P - Tamara Statman, Horizon (Scottsdale, Ariz.), Sr.
Overcoming injuries, Statman was 25-8 with a 1.54 ERA and 279 strikeouts (200 innings) as a senior. A four-time MaxPreps All-American, she is the first Arizona player to record more than 1,000 strikeouts in her career. She also batted .509 with 23 extra base hits. She will attend Arizona.

P - Miranda Elish, Crown Point (Ind.), Jr.
Elish, who has committed to Oregon, led the Bulldogs to a 29-3 season with a 15-1 record, 0.65 ERA and had 198 strikeouts in 107 innings. She allowed 39 base hits, seven fewer than she collected. Elish, who was named Indiana's Gatorade POY, also batted .479 and drove in 32 runs.

P - Mary Williams, Cape Fear (Fayetteville, N.C.), Sr.
Williams led the Colts to a 23-1 record and the fourth round of the Class 4A playoffs this past season when she posted a 21-1 record and 0.12 ERA in the circle, along with a .506 batting average, seven home runs and 52 RBIs. A MaxPreps Underclass All-American in 2014 and the Class 4A East Pitcher of the Year, she struck out 235 batters in 121.1 innings pitched while surrendering just 26 hits and issuing only 15 walks. She also collected 1 shutouts. She will attend East Carolina.

P - Ashlee Swindle, Curry (Jasper, Ala.), Jr.
Swindell led Curry to a 4A State title with a 43-5 record, 0.22 ERA and 327 strikeouts. She was named to the Alabama Super Softball All-State Team, as well as being named the state 4A Pitcher and Player of the Year.

P - Morgan White, Forest (Ocala, Fla.), Jr.
White struck out 335 batters this season and won 29 games, pitching to a 1.73 ERA and leading the Wildcats to the State 6A title. She was equally dominant at the plate, hitting .410, driving in 58 runs and hitting a dozen home runs. White was named Florida's Miss Softball.

P - Keenan Dolezal, Barrington (Ill.), Sr.
Dolezal pitched all but 12 innings this season and had 19 shutouts en route to a 31-6 record with 338 strikeouts and a 1.36 ERA. Named the Pioneer Press POY, she will attend Loyola.

P - Maddie Damon, Kasson-Mantorville (Kasson, Minn.), Sr.
The state's all-time strikeout leader (1,286), Damon led K-M to a second straight 2A state title. She pitched 19 shutouts en route to a 25-2 record, 0.16 ERA 382 strikeouts in 175 innings. She allowed just 44 base hits, only two more than she collected at the plate (.433 average and 13 home runs). She has signed with Purdue.

P - Cayla Drotar, Hartsville (S.C.), Jr.
The 5-foot-7 junior right-hander led the Red Foxes (29-3) to the Class 3A state championship series this past season. The state's returning Gatorade Softball Player of the Year, Drotar posted a 21-3 record and a 0.68 ERA in the circle, along with a .635 batting average, 14 home runs and 62 RBIs at the plate. A five-time All-State selection, she struck out 209 batters in 143.2 innings pitched, allowing just 48 hits. A 2014 MaxPreps Underclass All-American, she has committed to South Carolina.

P - Holly Azevedo, Pioneer (San Jose, Calif.), So.
Named the San Jose Mercury News POY, Azevedo, who went 28-1 with a 0.04 ERA, allowed only 55 hits and 24 walks in 177 innings while striking out 256. Her only loss was the final game of the season – the only game in which an earned run was scored against her. She has committed to UCLA.

C - Lauren Buchanan, Bishop Carroll (Wichita, Kan.), Sr.
Buchanan batted .615, drove in 47 runs and had 22 extra base hits in 25 games, but her coach said the best part of her game is her defense. The future Colorado State Ram played a major role in Bishop Carroll's unbeaten season.

C - Maddie McCracken, Olathe North (Kan.), Sr.
No stranger to MaxPreps All-American teams, McCracken closed out her illustrious career by hitting .552 and driving in 29 runs despite being walked 23 times. She will play at Notre Dame.

C - Ari Samaniego, Desert Edge (Goodyear, Ariz.), Sr.
Samaniego's numbers were down a bit from her blistering junior year (.684, 66 RBIs, 16 home runs), but she finished hitting .440, homering 15 times and driving in 60 as the Scorpions finished 29-4. Next stop: University of Northern Colorado.

IF - Taria Page, East (Anchorage, Alaska), Sr.
Page, a two-time state Gatorade winner, batted .741 with 13 home runs, 48 runs and 44 RBIs to lead East to its fourth straight state large school title. The 6-2 Paige will attend Louisiana Tech.

IF - Shay Knighten, Sunny Hills (Fullerton, Calif.), Sr.
The Oklahoma-bound shortstop batted .494, drove in 30 runs and scored 34. She racked up 12 doubles and hit seven home runs, while striking out only twice in 108 plate appearances. Behind Knighten, the Lancers shared the Freeway League title and advanced to the quarterfinals of the Division II playoffs.

IF - Nicole Stockinger, Sherwood (Sandy Spring, Md.), Sr.
She posted a .610 batting average with a state-record 14 home runs this past season, leading the Warriors (21-0) to a fourth straight Class 4A state title. A two-time Washington Post First Team All-Met selection, Stockinger knocked in 41 runs, scored 39 times and drew 19 walks, striking out just once en route to a .696 on-base percentage and a 1.508 slugging percentage. She concluded her prep softball career with a state-record 39 home runs. Stockinger, who will attend Towson, hit a walk-off home run in the state semifinal game.

IF - Hailey Lunderman, Neshoba Central (Philadelphia, Miss.), Sr.
Lunderman led the Rockets to a 31-1 record and a third consecutive Class 5A state championship this past season. The 2015 Female Athlete of the Year as named by The Clarion-Ledger, Lunderman batted .612 with five homers, 41 RBIs and 48 runs scored. She belted 19 extra-base hits, recording a .651 on-base percentage and .938 slugging percentage. She has signed with Mississippi.

IF - Abbey Cheek, Chapman (Inman, S.C.), Sr.
Chapman might not have had a stellar year (15-11), but Cheek sure did, hitting 18 home runs (including four grand slams), and batting .550 with 56 RBIs and 46 runs. Her slugging pct. was 1.437. She has signed with Kentucky.

IF - Alexis Solak, Naperville North (Ill.), Sr.
The Pitt signee tied a state record with 28 doubles and batted .592 with 71 hits this year. She had a .950 slugging percentage and an on-base percentage of .652.

IF - Shea Smith, Verrado (Buckeye, Ariz.), Sr.
Smith is a two-time All-Arizona selection and a run-producing machine, with 12 home runs, 72 RBIs and a .596 batting average. She also scored 60 times and had 39 extra base hits. She is headed to Grand Canyon.

IF - Alexis Mack, Brecksville-Broadview Heights (Broadview Heights, Ohio), Sr.
In leading the Bees to a 27-4 record, Mack batted .682, scored 60 runs and drove in 31. She also stole 77 bases and has signed with South Carolina. In four high school seasons, Mack stole 232 bases.

IF - Allie Arneson, Aledo (Texas), Sr.
Arneson led Aledo to the 5A state title, hitting .603, and was named District 8-5A MVP and First Team All-State. She will play at Virginia.

IF - Jenny Behan, Carmel (Mundelein, Ill.), Sr.
Behan's senior season included 66 hits, 17 home runs, 14 doubles, and 63 RBIs. She also walked 21 times and scored 63 runs. Her .532 batting average set the school record for the third year in a row. She'll continue her softball career at James Madison University.

IF - Taylor Lynch, Red Oak (Texas), Sr.
The Oklahoma State signee was an all-state selection and the District 14-5A offensive player of the year. She hit .684 — marking the third consecutive season that she hit better than .625 — and she had an on-base percentage of .727. The senior never struck out in district play in her high school career.

OF - Amanda Lorenz, Moorpark (Calif.), Sr.
The Florida recruit was the Coastal Canyon League's Player of the Year, batting .525 with seven homers, 25 RBIs, 31 runs scored and seven doubles, and also earned first-team All-CIF honors for the Coastal Canyon League runner-up.

OF - Hannah Edwards, Catasauqua (Pa.), Jr.
Edwards set a new state record for stolen bases with 57 (twice she stole six in a game) and also had 57 base hits in batting .687 and scoring 40 times.

OF - Sierra Smith, Verrado (Buckeye, Ariz.), Sr.
Smith batted .628, scored 72 runs, had 35 extra base hits, drove in 44 runs and stole 23 bases. She will attend Grand Canyon University with her All-American twin sister, Shea.

OF - Megan Hensley, Ashland Blazer (Ashland, Ky.), Sr.
A two-time Gatorade State Player of the Year, Hensley posted a 25-8 record in the circle along with a 0.75 ERA this season, leading the Kittens (32-9) to the first round of the KHSAA State Tournament. Hensley had struck out 371 batters and walked 66 in 233 innings. At the plate, the 2014 MaxPreps All-American batted .429 with 18 home runs, 48 RBIs and a 1.025 slugging percentage. She will play at Louisville.

UTIL - Madilyn Nickles, Merced (Calif.), Jr.
Nickles pitched five no-hitters, including four in conference play and was 22-6 with a 1.18 ERA and 287 strikeouts in 178 innings. She is the only junior on the USA Junior National Team. She has committed to UCLA.

UTIL - Samantha Worrell, Hagerty (Oviedo, Fla.), Sr.
The senior pitcher and slugger led the Huskies to the state semifinals with a 1.05 ERA and 154 strikeouts. She was Hagerty's leading hitter with a .478 average, 41 hits, 35 RBIs and 12 home runs. She will play at South Florida next season.

UTIL - Bekah Slattery, Daniel Boone (Birdsboro, Pa.), Sr.
Named Pennsylvania Overall Player of the Year (all divisions), Slattery went 17-1 with a 0.36 ERA and struck out 330 for a career total of 923. At the plate, she compiled a .595 batting average. She has signed with Lock Haven.
