6. (6) DeSoto (Texas), 20-1The Eagles will have the opportunity to avenge their only loss of the season Friday when they face Duncanville in a key District 5A-7 showdown.
7. (8) Southwind (Memphis, Tenn.), 13-3Feeling good after a 90-25 win over Wooddale that included a team-high 25 points from Missouri-bound forward
Johnathan Williams III, the Jags welcome No. 8 Simeon (Chicago) to Memphis this weekend with revenge on their minds. Southwind was served a 19-point loss by the Windy City powerhouse a year ago.
8. (7) Simeon (Chicago), 9-2The fact that Simeon has two losses at this point isn't a huge surprise. The fact that it
couldn't remain competitive with Academy Top 10-ranked Montverde Academy (Fla.) on Saturday at the Cancer Research Classic was a bit alarming, however. The Wolverines will have another chance to get things on track over the weekend at the Penny Hardaway Hoopfest in the aforementioned matchup with Southwind.
9. (9) Chester (Pa.), 7-2After a jarring experience at the City of Palms Classic, Chester seems to be back in its comfort zone following an 82-43 win over Reading on Saturday.
10. (10) White Station (Memphis, Tenn.), 13-1The Spartans have won three of their last four contests by just two points. They will need to be much better Saturday at the Penny Hardaway Hoopfest against No. 4 Whitney Young.
