Ahead of the 2021 high school football season, MaxPreps is breaking down the top senior prospects in the country state-by-state as rated by 247Sports. We continue the series with Pennsylvania, which opens play Aug. 27.
Pennsylvania’s top tier talent is spread out. Only three schools have two or more top 25 talents on their respective rosters: Neuman Goretti (three), LaSalle (two) and Imhotep (two). St. Joseph’s Prep, the three-time defending Class 6A state champion which is No. 22 nationally in the preseason MaxPreps Top 25, boasts one of the top 25 prospects in defensive back Keenan Nelson Jr., a South Carolina commit
247SPORTS: Complete Pennsylvania player rankings
Three of the country’s top 15 edge players, including the No. 1 prospect, call Pennsylvania home. The state is also home to the country’s No. 1 RB prospect – Governor Mifflin’s Nicholas Singleton, who is committed to Penn State. The state’s top two positions are LB (five) and WR (three).
As of Aug. 8, 20 of the 25 have committed to colleges, headlined by Penn State with seven. Rutgers, West Virginia and South Carolina each have two.

Safety Keenan Nelson Jr. led St. Joseph Prep to a 6-0 record and No. 4 national spot in the 2020 MaxPreps Top 25 rankings.
