MaxPreps Northern California Top 25 high school football rankings

The top six teams remained steady in the rankings, but there should be change next week after so many head-to-head meetings between ranked clubs.

Those matchups include: No. 5 Grant at No. 3 Elk Grove and No. 11 Oak Ridge visiting No. 10 Rocklin in Placer County.

Section: North Coast
League: Freelance
Result: Beat state-ranked Servite (Anaheim) 47-24 after leading big early as Antoine Custer rushed for 266 yards and three touchdowns and Andrew Hernandez went for 112 and three. Other wins include ranked foes Del Oro, Serra and Jesuit.

2. Folsom (2) 5-0

League: Sierra Foothill
Result: Beat previous No. 7 Granite Bay 63-0 as Jake Browning passed for 311 yards and five touchdowns, four to Josiah Deguara, who also provided strong blocking. The defense again held inside the 20s.

3. Elk Grove (3) 4-0

League: Delta
Result: Beat Davis 56-13 as Spencer Sheff ran for three touchdowns, Tyler Vander Waal passed for 141 yards and a score and Eltoro Allen, Manny Scott-Anderson and Sai Ta'amu each scored.

Result: Beat No. 23 Los Gatos 35-32 as the Rams held on the 1-yard line as time ran out. Marcell Spady scored for a 35-25 lead after trailing 10-0. The loss was at St. Ignatius (San Francisco) 27-24 in double overtime on a field goal after missing one from 35 yards out on the final play of regulation. An earlier win was over No. 11 Central Catholic on a late play.

Result: Lost to No. 1 Folsom 63-0 a week after falling to No. 6 Vacaville 13-7, defeats that coach Ernie Cooper said can only serve to inspire his storied program.

Result: Lost to No. 21 St. Mary's 35-32 in a thriller as a game-winning drive stalled on the 1 late. An earlier win was 21-13 over No. 24 Archbishop Mitty.

24. Archbishop Mitty (San Jose) (23) 2-1

League: West Catholic Athletic
Result: Beat then No. 18 Pittsburg 13-7 as Dakari Monroe and Luke Allen rushed for touchdowns. The loss was 21-13 to No. 23 Los Gatos.

Result: Beat 2013 Bowl team Manteca 29-28 on a late Justin Rice 2-point conversion for the two-time defending Division IV CIF State Bowl champion Raiders. Rice rushed for 129 yards and accounted for all four scores. The loss was to No. 21 St. Mary's on a late play.
