Incarnate Word Academy climbs in this week's MaxPreps Top 25 high school girls basketball rankings with eighth straight title in Missouri

Red Knights roll to 55-41 victory over Staley in Class 6 final as perennial power earns 12th championship under head coach Dan Rolfes.

Incarnate Word Academy (St. Louis) won its eighth straight state championship in Missouri over the weekend, sliding up one spot to No. 22 in this week's MaxPreps Top 25 high school girls basketball rankings. 

The Red Knights saw their record consecutive win streak snapped earlier this season at 141 games, but head coach Dan Rolfes said their only goal was a state title and the streak was merely a byproduct.

Incarnate Word Academy handed Staley (Kansas City) its first loss of the season in a 55-41 triumph in the Class 6 title game, getting 14 points from Nevaeh Lucious and 10 from Indiana commit Nevaeh Caffey. The Red Knights have captured 11 championships in 12 seasons, excluding the COVID-canceled 2020 campaign.
