For the first time since the 1991, the Detroit Lions are hosting a Divisional Round NFL playoff game.
The Lions are led by quarterback
Jared Goff, who played multiple sports at
Marin Catholic (Kentfield, Calif.). Former
Lake Travis (Austin, Texas) dual-sport star
Baker Mayfield leads the opposing Tampa Bay Buccaneers at QB.
Mayfield had his best high school season as a junior when he won a state football title and led the baseball team to the state semifinals.
That year the Cavaliers had a perfect 16-0 record as Mayfield passed for 3,788 yards and 45 touchdowns. A dual-threat quarterback, he added 754 yards and 10 scores on the ground.

In the spring Mayfield's bat was hot and he hit .364 with 18 doubles. When the infielder had multiple hits in a game, the Cavs went 13-2.
The 2017 Heisman Trophy winner left Lake Travis with a three-star recruiting ranking by
247Sports. Despite offers from Florida Atlantic, New Mexico and Rice, Mayfield walked on at Texas Tech before transferring to Oklahoma.
Goff was rated as a four-star recruit by
247Sports in the Class of 2013 before heading to California. At Marin Catholic, the 6-foot-4, 185 pounder also played basketball and baseball, where he hit .295 as a junior.
Wearing No. 16 in honor of Joe Montana, Goff lit up the football field, tossing for 7,687 yards and 93 touchdowns in his career.
As a junior Goff and the Wildcats were one game away from reaching the state championship. During his senior year, Marin Catholic reached the state finals before narrowly falling to Madison (San Diego, Calif.) 38-35. Despite the loss, Goff threw four touchdowns and ran for another.
Goff has been to the Super Bowl before as a member of the Los Angeles Rams, the team the Lions beat last week in the Wild Card round. A win this week would send the Lions to the NFC title game for the second time in the Super Bowl era and the first time since 1991.
