Each year since 2006, MaxPreps has recognized outstanding performers in prep basketball. America's source for high school sports continues the tradition to close out the 2023-24 season by naming the top player in each state. Selections are based on team success and individual excellence in addition to local and state accolades.
Liam Campbell of
Owyhee (Meridian) is the 2023-24 Idaho MaxPreps Player of the Year. The 6-foot-4 senior guard led the Storm to a 24-3 record and the program's second state championship in the past three seasons.
Campbell averaged 16.8 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists per contest while shooting 49.1 percent from the field, 40.5 percent from three-point range and 85.7 percent from the free throw line. All three of Owyhee's losses came against out-of-state opponents.

Regarded as the No. 92 prospect in the Class of 2024 according to
247Sports, Campbell signed with USC in November over offers from Boise State, Colorado State, Stanford and Washington State among others.
