For the struggling Florida Gators offense, help is on the way in the form of
Homestead (Fla.) senior
Ermon Lane.
Lane turned down offers from the likes of Miami and Alabama to commit to the Gators in August.
The 6-foot-3, 193-pound senior skyrocketed onto the recruiting scene following a fine junior season and an
impressive showing at Nike's The Opening camp over the summer.

On film, it's easy to see why Lane is so highly-touted.
He has great size and speed, but his polish as a high school receiver is what sets him apart. Lane possesses elite body control and ball skills, and wins more than his fair share of jump balls.
In his highlights, Lane makes several impressive interceptions, suggesting that he could also thrive on the defensive side of the ball as a safety at the next level.
During his recruiting process, Lane said that playing with the right quarterback would be an important factor in his decision.
In committing to the Gators, he'll be paired with
Davidson Day (N.C.) signal-caller
Will Grier, a contender for MaxPreps National Player of the Year honors.
As a senior Lane has demonstrated glimpses of his potential but, against an extremely challenging schedule, he and Homstead have struggled at times.
In a game last weekend against Miami Central, he was limited to 31 yards on three catches.
The outstanding Central defensive back who lined up against him?
Dalvin Cook, normally the team's running back, and a future teammate of Lane's at Florida.
