Video: Sierra Canyon beats Chaminade highlights
See the Trailblazers win the Southern Section Division 2 title.
Sierra Canyon's absence from the top spot in the MaxPreps Small Schools National Football Rankings lasted just one week as the Trailblazers returned to the top after winning the Southern Section Division 2 championship over Chaminade (West Hills).
Sierra Canyon advances to the California South Regional Bowl Games against Helix, the San Diego Open Division champion.
Most impressive win: Lena-Winslow 58, Central A&M 20. The Panthers scored 678 points on the season, including a postseason best 58 points in the Class 1A state championship game. Lena-Winslow averaged 51 points per game during the playoffs.
Game of the Week: Madison County 37, Pahokee 36. The Cowboys got an impressive performance from Vinsonta Allen to advance to the Florida Class 1A state championship game.
Game to watch: Anna vs. Springfield (New Middletown). Anna is ranked higher than Springfield, but the Tigers have the better record at 14-0. The two teams meet in the Division VI state championship game.
Best individual performance: Sean Ormiston, Lena-Winslow. Besides setting an Illinois Class 1A state championship game record with five rushing touchdowns, Ormiston also returned an interception for a touchdown.

The Small Schools Top 25 is open to schools that generally play in enrollment divisions with less than 1,000 students. Some California schools with under 1,000 students that play in competition-based playoff divisions that mostly include large enrollment schools (such as Sierra Canyon and Grace Brethren) are also included. Teams are ranked based on their MaxPreps computer ranking, which is listed along with their current record.
