The power rankings have been shaken up after a frantic week teeming with triumph and disappointment. Among the action were the efforts of Aurora's senior Baylor Scheierman, an offensive menace who scored six total TDs.

Wahoo not only got the result it was looking for last game, but the team outscored its opponent West Point-Beemer in every quarter. Wahoo picked up a decisive 'W' against West Point-Beemer, finishing up at 36 - 0. Wahoo did have the odds in its favor, but the team did even better than the MaxPreps state rankings indicated. The win also thrust it into the power rankings, where the team now holds the 20th spot.
Can't Touch This
Roncalli Catholic's 62 - 17 win over Bennington last week had a lot to do with the leadership of senior Alex Rodgers. Rodgers earned five touchdowns and 222 yards rushing the ball. That performance landed Rodgers among the top power-ranked players for the week.
This Week's Big Showdown
The confrontation between Northwest (14th in the power rankings) and Seward (19th) did not disappoint. Northwest finished ahead of Seward by a score of 44 - 40. Northwest saw its record improve to 2-3 and its power rank jump nine places as a result.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between Kearney (25th in the power rankings) and Millard West (13th). Both teams are rolling into the game after last-week wins. Given their high-scoring efforts against their previous opponents, we'll see how far they can run the score up this week.
