Two of the more successful small school baseball programs in the country top the first small schools national baseball rankings, which were released this week by MaxPreps.
Roff, a Class A school in Oklahoma, comes in at No. 1 with a 22-0 record. Roff is regularly one of the top programs in Oklahoma and won three consecutive state championships from 2009-11.
Meanwhile, Sumrall, a 3A school in Mississippi, comes in at No. 2. Sumrall is a regular state championship contender and even finished No. 1 in the MaxPreps national rankings in 2009 and 2010.
Small schools are those schools that belong to state enrollment divisions with generally less than 1,000 students. Rankings are based on the
MaxPreps Computer Rankings. The team's record is listed along with its computer rating.
