The 2020 Clemson commit is having another huge year for the defending 7A Florida state champs. The Dreadnaughts check in as the No. 7 team in the Top 25 and are 12-0, winning 27 straight games dating back to last season. Bowman has rushed for more than 1,500 yards and 23 touchdowns averaging nearly 12 yards per carry during his senior campaign. You can watch him and his Lakeland squad
live on the NFHS Network at 7:30 p.m. ET against Armwood (Seffner) with a spot in the semifinals on the line.
What stood out most for the 2020 Michigan commit was that the bigger the game, the better he played. He was the bright spot in St. Frances Academy's only loss of the season against the No. 1 team in the country — Mater Dei, Santa Ana, Calif.). He accounted for over 200 yards of total offense and a score. He also had a big-time game against IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) leading them to a dominant 35-7 win. The Panthers season is over for now but expect them to play one more game in the GEICO State Champions Bowl Series in December.
St. Louis has produced some big-time quarterbacks from the 808.
Marcus Mariota,
Tua Tagovailoa, Jeremiah Masoli, Timmy Chang and
Chevan Cordeiro are some of the notable gunslingers to come from the Hawaii power. You can add de Laura to that list. The 2020 Washington State commit has thrown for more than 3,000 yards and 26 touchdowns while leading the Crusaders to a 10-0 record and a spot at No. 6 in the Top 25. He also leads the team in rushing and is undefeated as the starting quarterback since taking over before the 2018 season.
The 2020 Washington commit has led Corona del Mar to its best season since an undefeated Division III state title in 2013. They are 12-0 and are one win away from playing in the CIF Southern Section Division 3 championship. Garbers has thrown for 3,997 yards and 58 touchdowns while completing over 70 percent of his passes.
The Panthers have been one of the most dominant teams in high school football and it starts with the man under center. They've outscored the opposition 489-47 and check in as the No. 3 team in the country. The 2020 Texas commit has Duncanville on the right track to make the 6A Division 1 state championship game for the second consecutive year but all he cares about is winning it all this time around.
You could make a strong case that Robinson is as good as any other player to ever come out of Arizona. The 2020 Texas commit became the first player in state history to rush for over 2,000 yards in three different seasons. He's run for 2,116 yards and 37 touchdowns averaging 19.6 yards per carry this season. He's the state's third leading rusher all-time with 6,917 and is 101 yards away from being No. 2. His 113 career touchdowns are the most in state history and his 102 rushing scores are 13 more than the next closest.
The 2020 Ohio State commit is putting up video game numbers, again. He hauled in 97 receptions for 1,828 yards and 20 touchdowns in 2018 and this year he has 70 grabs for 1,553 yards and 25 touchdowns despite missing a few games. He's averaging over 22 yards per reception and has had at least two touchdowns in all but two games this season. He leads the Yellowjackets into a big-time matchup against No. 11 Allen (Texas) in the 6A Division 1 playoffs on Friday night at AT&T Stadium. You can watch the game
live on the NFHS Network. He had 14 receptions for 267 yards and three touchdowns the last time he played the Eagles.
He answered his big-time junior year with an even bigger senior campaign. He's thrown for nearly 3,200 yards and has 35 touchdowns against two interceptions. The 2020 Clemson commit also has over 300 yards rushing and seven more scores. If he leads St. John Bosco to a state title that would go a long way toward being named the National Player of the Year. They would have to potentially knock off No. 25 Centennial (Corona), No. 1 Mater Dei (Santa Ana), and No. 10 De La Salle (Concord) to close out the year, which would look great on the resume.
The only defensive player to crack the list has the Florida power in position to win its first state title since 2016. The Raiders have produced some big-time defensive players led by
Nick Bosa,
Joey Bosa, Geno Atkins and
Lamarcus Joyner. Get ready to add Wingo to that list. The 2020 Florida commit leads the Raiders in tackles, tackles for loss, sacks, and quarterback pressures.
Young is the clubhouse leader right now. The 2020 Alabama commit has thrown for 3,603 yards and has 46 touchdowns against three interceptions while completing nearly 75 percent of his passes. The top rated dual-threat quarterback also has 378 yards rushing and 10 more scores. He's led the No. 1 team in the country to wins over four ranked teams by double digits and if the Monarchs run the table and finish undefeated it will be near impossible for anyone to jump him for Player of the Year honors.
