MaxPreps 2016-2017 Missouri preseason high school boys basketball Fab 5, presented by the Army National Guard

1. Vashon (St. Louis)
Head coach: Altonio Irons
2015-16 record: 26-4

Vashon captured the Class 4A state title last year in convincing fashion. The Wolverines reload with four starters averaging double-digit points per game. Look for Daniel Ferris to lead the attack after posting 17 points and six assists per game last year.

2. Chaminade (St. Louis)
Head coach: Kelvin Lee
2015-16 record: 26-6

Chaminade dusted the competition and ended last season as the No. 14 team in the Xcellent 25 rankings and won its first state title since 2009. The Red Devils lost 5-star Duke commit Jayson Tatum, but are still a respected and veteran bunch.

3. Kickapoo (Springfield)
Head coach: Dick Rippee
2015-16 record: 29-3 Kickapoo completed last year as the state runner-up in Class 5A. But the Chiefs bring back a ton of firepower with Xavier commit Jared Ridder and Navy commit Cameron Davis.

4. Lee's Summit
Head coach: Blake Little
2015-16 record: 27-1

Lee's Summit reached the Class 5A state semifinals last season and finished as the No. 2 team in the state. The Tigers are hungry for a state title after the bitter end to last season.

5. Sikeston
Head coach: Gregg Holifield
2015-16 record: 28-3

Sikeston went all the way to the Class 4A state semifinals last year. But the Bulldogs return junior standout guard Fred Thatch. The three-star shooting guard averaged 20.7 points per game last season and will be tough to contend with.
