Gonzaga (Washington, D.C.)After 10 years at Wheeling Jesuit University, tournament director Doc Merrick felt it was time for a new home.
"We aren't leaving Wheeling Jesuit, we are just moving downtown. We really have outgrown the venue though," Merrick said. "Last year people couldn't find parking, we had complaints people couldn't see the court well and we had to turn others away at the door."
"The most important things for us was to maintain is the atmosphere. The fans were almost on the floor, the place was sold out and the local fans were excited for the teams attending the event. (At WesBanco) there is not a bad seat in the house and the house will be full."
The 2019 Cancer Research Classic will feature its deepest, most talented field to date. Featuring numerous must-see matchups that will surely affect the high school basketball landscape in a major way in 2018-19.
This star-studded event will play a major role in shaping the field for GEICO Nationals, with Montverde Academy, La Lumiere, Findlay Prep, Sunrise Christian, Norcross, and McEachern all eligible to compete in the nation title event at the end of the year.

Dahmir Bishop and Imhotep Charter will be involved in a pair of big time matchups at the Cancer Research Classic.
