We set the tone for 2019 by looking at high school football's elite.


Head coach: Kenny Sanchez

Last season: 11-3. Ended year riding 10-game winning streak and beating Bishop Manogue (Reno) 69-26 in the 4A championship.

Last decade: 139-10

QB Micah Bowens (6-0, 195, Sr.) — 2020 Penn State commit threw for over 2,700 yards and rushed for nearly 1,000 more to go with 44 total touchdowns during his junior season.

WR Rome Odunze (6-2, 200, Sr.) — 4-star receiver led the team with nearly 1,500 yards receiving and 15 touchdowns.

RB Ikaika Ragsdale (6-0, 215, Sr.) — Gives the Vegas power a legit backfield trio along with Class of 2022 running back Cam Barfield and recent Norco transfer Jaydn Ott.

LB Bam Amina (6-0, 205, Sr.) — Linebacking corps will be strong suits for Gaels led by Amina, Dahlin Mesake and Bryan Certain.

DB Kodi DeCambra (5-10, 160, Fr.) — Class of 2023 talent became the first eighth-grader to be invited to The Opening and expect him to be an impact freshman this year.
