Video: James Cook senior highlightsSee one of high school football's most exciting backs in action.James Cook of
Central (Miami, Fla.) won't be following in the footsteps of his famous older brother.
The 5-foot-11, 190-pound senior running back made a verbal commitment Thursday to Georgia, joining a recruiting class that already includes the nation's top-ranked quarterback and running back.
Cook's older brother Dalvin – a rookie running back with the Minnesota Vikings – played from 2014-16 at Florida State. James committed to the Seminoles in March 2016 only to renege on the pledge in July, opening things up for Kirby Smart and Georgia.
The future Bulldog is pegged as the No. 35 overall prospect in the Class of 2018 by
247Sports and No. 3 running back.
Cook will play alongside high school football's top running back in
Zamir White of
Scotland (Laurinburg, N.C.) and the top quarterback in
Justin Fields of
Harrison (Kennesaw, Ga.).
Thanks in large part to the play of Cook, Central is currently 8-2 and ranked No. 19 nationally by MaxPreps.

James Cook ran for 199 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Bishop Gorman earlier this season.
