Five-star point guard set to announce college decision this week.


1. (No. 1 last week) Nathan Hale (Seattle), 22-0
Just when it looked like the Raiders might be vulnerable, they dialed it back up Friday night in the Metro League tournament championship game. Nathan Hale crushed Garfield (Seattle) 91-58 behind 40 points and 13 rebounds from Michael Porter. The Bulldogs – who fell to Nathan Hale for the third time this season – were ranked in the Top 25 nationally by four media outlets last week.

2. (2) Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, Calif.), 25-1
The Trailblazers headline a list of four nationally-ranked teams headed into CIF Southern Section Open Division play next week. Joining Sierra Canyon will be No. 3 Chino Hills, No. 5 Mater Dei and No. 9 Bishop Montgomery.

3. (3) Chino Hills (Calif.), 27-1
Not much going on with the Huskies, just a 92-point game from sophomore LaMelo Ball in a 146-123 win over Los Osos (Rancho Cucamonga) last Tuesday.

4. (4) Memphis East (Memphis, Tenn.), 24-3
Radio host and former Commercial Appeal writer L. Jason Smith says this is the best high school basketball team ever from Memphis. The Mustangs looked the part Saturday in dismantling formerly-ranked Cordova 75-52 in the Shelby County championship game.

5. (5) Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.), 28-1
Winners of 17 in a row, Mater Dei enters CIF Southern Section Open Division play with a ton of momentum. Junior 7-footer Bol Bol is averaging 19.5 points, 9.8 rebounds and 3.0 blocked shots per game in eight outings since being declared eligible.

6. (6) McEachern (Powder Springs, Ga.), 26-0
Six teams who have spent time in the High School Top 25 this season are in Georgia's AAAAAAA state playoff bracket, including McEachern, No. 18 Newton, Norcross, Pebblebrook (Mableton), Westlake (Atlanta) and Wheeler (Marietta).

7. (7) Jonesboro (Ark.), 24-0
After sitting out for nearly two years due to an eligibility squabble, 6-foot-7 senior Salisu Yahaya has played in the last seven games for Jonesboro. The native of Nigeria could make the best team in Arkansas even better down the stretch.

8. (8) Imhotep Charter (Philadelphia), 22-2
Under head coach Andre Noble, the Panthers won state titles in 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2013. One for the thumb in 2017?

9. (10) Bishop Montgomery (Torrance, Calif.), 23-2
Head coach Doug Mitchell's Knights haven't lost to a High School Top 25-eligible team since Nov. 25.

10. (12) Patrick School (Elizabeth, N.J.), 19-4
Minnesota signee Jamir Harris scored 24 points Sunday as the Celtics beat Archbishop Molloy (Queens, N.Y.) 73-59 at the Primetime Shootout. 11. (14) Paul VI (Fairfax, Va.), 22-3
Four players are averaging double figures this season for the Panthers, led by 6-6 junior guard Brandon Slater at 15.2 points per game.

12. (15) Greensboro Day (Greensboro, N.C.), 30-3
NCISAA Class 3A state tournament play begins Tuesday and continues through Feb. 25. Greensboro Day opens against the winner of Durham Academy (Durham) and High Point Christian Academy (High Point).

13. (9) Gonzaga (Washington, D.C.), 21-4
In a key week for the Eagles and the WCAC regular season race, Gonzaga meets No. 11 Paul VI on Tuesday and No. 20 DeMatha on Thursday.

14. (16) Shadow Mountain (Phoenix), 23-0
Winners of 29 in a row, the Matadors open Class 4A state tournament play Wednesday against Dysart (El Mirage).

15. (18) Klein Forest (Houston), 29-0
Cedrick Alley (23 points) and Reggie Miller (18) led the way Friday night as Klein Forest beat Stratford 72-61. The Eagles close out the regular season Tuesday against Klein Oak (Spring).

16. (20) Archbishop Moeller (Cincinnati, Ohio), 21-0
In three wins last week the Fighting Crusaders allowed just 38.3 points per game. Highlighting Moeller's defense is becoming a bit of a broken record but head coach Carl Kremer's team has been stifling, allowing just 40.4 points per game on the season.

17. (21) Champlin Park (Champlin, Minn.), 19-0
In a big showdown in Minnesota, McKinley Wright tallied 24 points, seven rebounds and seven assists last Monday as the Rebels beat one-loss Maple Grove 70-60.

18. (22) Newton (Covington, Ga.), 26-1
Avenging its only loss of the season, Newton beat Shiloh (Snellville) 75-61 on Saturday to win the Region 8-AAAAAAA title.

19. (11) Linden (N.J.), 17-3
Montverde Academy (Fla.) humbled the Tigers over the weekend at the Metro Classic. Linden has only one loss to a High School Top 25-eligible team season and avenged the setback with a win over No. 10 Patrick School in mid-January.

20. (13) DeMatha (Hyattsville, Md.), 20-4
Bishop O'Connell (Arlington, Va.) upset the Stags on Friday night. Even with four losses, hard to deny DeMatha a spot in the rankings as it has four wins over teams that have appeared in the High School Top 25 this season.

21. (NR) Wise (Upper Marlboro, Md.), 15-0
The Washington Post has Wise ranked above No. 11 Paul VI, No. 13 Gonzaga and No. 20 DeMatha in its All-Met Top 20. The Pumas strengthened that viewpoint with a 64-58 win Saturday over previously-unbeaten Rock Creek Christian Academy (Upper Marlboro).

22. (23) Bolingbrook (Ill.), 23-0
Malik Binns scored 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds Friday night as the Raiders stayed unbeaten with a 57-46 win over Homewood-Flossmoor (Flossmoor).

23. (24) Brentwood Academy (Brentwood, Tenn.), 25-2
The Eagles have won 20 in a row against High School Top 25-eligible teams. Brentwood Academy closes out the regular season this week with games against Pope John Paul II (Hendersonville) and Father Ryan (Nashville).

24. (25) Skyline (Dallas), 28-1
Four Raiders reached double figures Saturday in a 72-27 win over Lake Highlands (Dallas). Skyline blanked Lake Highlands 25-0 in the second quarter and led 51-10 at the half.

25. (NR) Edwardsville (Ill.), 22-1
Mark Smith is in the midst of a breakout senior year at Edwardsville, averaging 21.8 points per game. Iowa football signee A.J. Epenesa is adding 14.2 points and an incredible 14.1 rebounds per outing.
