The power rankings have experienced a modest tune-up after last week's playoff battles. A special shoutout goes to St. John Bosco's sophomore DJ Uiagalelei, who scored five total touchdowns in the team's most recent match.
Welcome
Paraclete repeated its 55-point performance from the game before for another record-booster in its most recent game. It earned a pretty comfortable 55 - 35 victory over Paloma Valley. One star in particular for Paraclete was senior Brevin White, who threw for 368 yards and three touchdowns. Thanks to its success, Paraclete cracked into the power rankings and now occupies the 23rd spot.
Can't Touch This
Helix's 62 - 41 win over San Marcos last week had a lot to do with the leadership of sophomore Elelyon Noa. Noa rushed for 323 yards and four touchdowns. In fact, our algorithms singled out Noa as one of the top players in the power rankings for the week.
Movin on Up
Oaks Christian will have a better view of things this week after its strong showing last week propelled it ten spots up the power rankings. That was the biggest rise of the week. It snuck past Upland with a 31 - 24 victory. No one had a larger role in the success than junior Josh Calvert, who brought his A game into the contest. He tossed the ball for 365 yards and one TD.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between St. John Bosco (2nd in the power rankings) and Mater Dei (1st). The teams have their eyes fixed on the championship after last-week playoff conquests. With each team boasting a good deal of offensive firepower (both teams have six high-flying games in a row), it will be interesting to see who can run the score up higher.
