
Los Alamitos defeated Mater Dei just a week ago for the Southern Section Division I title. The Griffins will have to beat the Monarchs again on Tuesday to advance to the state title game.

California Division I powers
Mater Dei (Santa Ana) and
Los Alamitos both won Saturday night and will meet Tuesday for the California Interscholastic Federation Southern California volleyball title, with the winner advancing to Saturday's state championship game.
Mater Dei (34-6) defeated 34-4 Torrey Pines (San Diego), 3-0, and Los Alamitos (34-5) held off 34-5 LaSalle (Pasadena), 3-2.
Tuesday's match will be the third time Mater Dei and Los Alamitos have played this season. Each has recorded a win — Mater Dei, 2-1, on Sept. 14 and the Griffins, 3-1, on Nov. 23 in the Southern Section D-I finals.

Also advancing were nationally ranked
Granite Bay (43-0) in the D-I Northern finals and
Santiago (Corona) in the D-II Southern finals. Granite Bay is
ranked No. 4 nationally and 39-0 Santiago holds the No. 7 spot.
Granite Bay will meet
St. Francis (Sacramento) in Tuesday's final with the winner getting the survivor of the Los Alamitos-Mater Dei match in CIF's D-I state final on Saturday, Dec. 7.
Santiago will square off on Tuesday against
Westview (San Diego) with the winner getting the winner of
Archbishop Mitty (San Jose)-
Los Altos on Dec. 7. Mitty (San Jose) is the defending D-II state champion.
In the D-III Northern finals,
Valley Christian (San Jose) will meet
Sacred Heart Cathedral (San Francisco) and
Central Valley Christian (Visalia) will face
Sage Hill (Newport Beach) in the Southern California final on Tuesday.
In Tuesday's Southern California D-IV final,
Saddleback Valley Christian (San Juan Capistrano) will play defending state champion
Parker (San Diego), while the Northern California final will be
Menlo (Atherton) versus
Sonora.
Defending state champion
Branson (Ross) reached Northern California's D-V finals and will play
St. Joseph Notre Dame (Alameda). In Tuesday's Southern California finals,
La Jolla Country Day will face
Minarets (O'Neals).
All five California state final games will be at Santiago Canyon College (Orange) on Dec. 7.
