After fully recovering from the ACL injury, Lewis, as a senior, led the Storm to the Class 6A state championship over Rio Rancho and had over 200 years rushing in the semifinals and championship game and ended the year with over 1,500 yards rushing for the third straight season — the last two at Cleveland after transferring from Texas.
As a result, Lewis is the MaxPreps New Mexico Player of the Year. He adds the award to his trophy case after earning Gatorade State Player of the Year honors as a junior.
Jeff Lynn of Roswell earns MaxPreps New Mexico Coach of the Year honors after leading Roswell to its second straight Class 5A state championship. Lynn went 11-2 in winning his first state titles last year and finished 13-0 this season. Lynn is the son of Hall of Fame coach David Lynn, who won six state titles of his own and now assists his son at Roswell.

The leader of a team that won two straight Class 5A state championships.

The returning Gatorade State Player of the Year led Cleveland to a Class 6A state championship and had 204 yards rushing in the semifinals against Clovis and 214 against Rio Rancho in the finals.

The leading rusher in the state had 2,140 yards on 151 carries with 34 touchdowns.
WR — Malik Phillips, Clovis, 5-11, 150, Sr.
The district offensive player of the year caught 78 passes for 1,147 yards and 17 touchdowns.

In his first full season on the varsity, Thomas was among the state leaders with 70 catches for 1,235 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Led all tight ends in New Mexico in receiving yardage with 1,229 yards on 67 catches with 13 touchdowns. All-state as a junior.

The state's all-time leading field goal kicker with 33, including nine as a senior with a long of 41 yards. Also 41-of-41 on extra points for 68 total points.

All-state on offense last year, Mendoza dominated on defense with eight sacks.

Blidi helped the Portales defense limit its opponents to just 14 points in the postseason. He's headed to Texas Tech. Made the all-state team last year.

The district defensive MVP posted 87 tackles, including eight tackles for loss.

Coach Jeff Lynn expects Reese to play at the next level next year. He did a little bit of everything for a team that scored over 600 points and won a second straight Class 5A championship.

Marquez helped lead Bloomfield to a 12-0 record heading into the Class 4A state championship game, throwing for 3,387 yards and 44 touchdowns.
QB — Mason Caperton, Eunice, 6-1, 195, Sr.
Led Eunice to the Class 2A state championship with a state best 3,529 yards and 51 touchdowns. Ends his career with 9,898 yards and 129 touchdown passes.
RB — Luke Padilla, Capital (Santa Fe), 5-9, 185, Jr.
Among the state's top rushers with 1,852 yards and 23 touchdowns in just 10 games.
RB — Jeston Webskowski, Clovis, 5-11, 182, Jr.
One of the state's leading rushers with 1,713 yards and 27 touchdowns, including 301 yards and five TDs in the semifinals against Cleveland.

Joined Santana to form a dynamic defensive duo as he had 56 tackles, 13 tackles for loss and nine sacks.

DL — Isaac Sanchez, Tularosa, Sr.
Led Tularosa with 12 sacks and also had 32 tackles for loss among his 72 overall tackles.
DL — Zach Griego, Hope Christian (Albuquerque), 5-11, 225, Sr.
Had 12 sacks for the Class 3A state champions.
DL — Sebastian Renteria, Mayfield (Las Cruces), 5-10, 200, Sr.
The leader on defense for Mayfield.

Posted 71 tackles, but 26 of them went for a loss. Added 12.5 sacks, 18 hurries and a pair of interceptions.

The leading tackler for one of the top 6A teams as he posted 90 on the season with two sacks and three interceptions.

Had nine passes defended and 26 tackles. An all-state pick as a sophomore.

Led the state in interceptions with nine and also had 19 passes defended.
DB — Cayden Walton, Raton, 5-8, 160, Fr.
Had 65 tackles and three interceptions on defense and also rushed for 1,907 yards 21 total touchdowns on the season as a freshman.
AP — Andrew Lujan, Estancia, 5-7, 145, Sr.
Besides being one of the leading rushers in the state with 2,054 yards and 27 touchdowns, Lujan also had three interceptions on defense.
P — Chance Harris, Clovis, 6-0, 200, Jr.
Besides throwing for 2,281 yards and 22 touchdowns, Harris was also one of the state's top punters at 39.8 yards per kick.
