MaxPreps Top 25 national high school volleyball rankings

A pair of unbeaten teams – Andover (Mass.) and Severna Park (Md.) – moved into the MaxPreps Xcellent 25 National Volleyball Rankings presented by the Army National Guard this week, but there was only one change in the Top 10.

Carroll (Southlake, Texas) and Jonathan Alder (Plain City, Ohio) both lost and fell from the Top 25.

Novi (Mich.) took advantage of Carroll's setback and moved up four spots from No. 11 to No. 7. Andover and Severna Park, each 23-0, enter this week's Top 25 at 23rd and 25th, respectively. Carroll, which has been ranked since the first poll in August, was ranked No. 6 a week ago.

The top five teams remained the same with three weeks remaining in the Top 25 rankings.

Gabriel Richard meets Lake Odessa (Lakewood) Tuesday in the Class B quarterfinals.

5. (5) Torrey Pines (San Diego), 32-1
The Falcons extended their win streak to 25 and meet La Jolla in the San Diego Section semifinals on Tuesday.

6. (7) P.K. Yonge (Gainesville, Fla.), 31-1 *Season over
P.K. Yonge captured the state 3A championship last weekend to finish its season with 11 victories in a row.

7. (11) Novi (Mich.), 51-2
The Wildcats meet Grosse Point North in the state 4A quarterfinals on Tuesday.

8. (8) Winter Springs (Fla.), 30-2 *Season over
Winter Springs captured the state 8A title last weekend.

9. (9) Morgan (Utah), 32-0 *Season over
The Trojans won Utah's 3A title.

10. (10) Desert Vista (Phoenix), 43-3 *Season over
The Thunder finished the season with 20 straight wins and a state title.

11. (15) Fort Bend Austin (Sugar Land, Texas), 45-2
The Bulldogs carry a 30-match win streak into the next round of the Texas 6A playoffs.

12. (18) Santiago (Corona, Calif.), 32-3
The Sharks have 20 straight wins and play Trabuco Hills Tuesday in the CIF-Southern Section D1 semifinals.

13. (13) Edmond North (Okla.), 32-1 *Season over
The Huskies won the state 6A title.

14. (14) Mattawan (Mich.), 51-2
The Wildcats play Grand Rapids Christian in the state 4A quarterfinals on Tuesday.

15. (16) Williamsville East (East Amherst, N.Y.), 37-1
East has won 32 straight.

16. (24) Eaton (Colo.), 28-0 *Season over
Eaton won its third-straight 3A title.

17. (17) Buford (Ga.), 41-0 *Season over
Buford won the state 4A championship.

18. (19) Parkland (Allentown, Pa.), 34-2
Parkland advanced to a state 4A semifinal match.

19. (20) Assumption (Louisville, Ky.), 36-7 *Season over
The Rockets won Kentucky's state title.

20. (21) St. Francis (Wheaton, Ill.), 39-3 *Season over
St. Francis captured a 4A state title.

21. (23) George Washington (Charleston, W. Va.), 65-1-1 *Season over
The Patriots won the state 3A championship last weekend and lost just 12 sets in 67 matches.

22. (22) Brentwood (Tenn.), 53-3 *Season over
Brentwood won a state AAA championship.

23. (NR) Andover (Mass.), 23-0
Andover plays Newton North Tuesday in the state Large School semifinals.

24. (25) Dripping Springs (Texas), 49-3
Dripping Springs plays Randall (Amarillo) in a state 5A semifinal on Thursday.

25. (NR) Severna Park (Md.), 23-0
Severna Park plays Northwest in the state 4A semifinals on Thursday.
