Highlight tapes are usually the go-to indicator for college football coaches, fans and players in assessing a prospect's talent. But some recruits tapes are visibly a cut above.
Here's a look at the five best highlight tapes in the game.
D.J. Matthews, WR, Trinity Christian Academy (Jacksonville, Fla.)Matthews might be the shiftiest player in America. The 5-foot-11, 160-pound playmaker keeps fans on the edge of their seat. The FSU commit racked up 880 total yards, nine total touchdowns and scored 21 percent of the time he touched the ball in helping the Conquerors claim their third-consecutive Florida Class 3A state championship last season. The nation's No. 7 receiver and 50th overall prospect has No. 18 Trinity Christian eyeing a national title. See him in action above.
Richard LeCounte,
S,
Liberty County (Hinesville, Ga.)LeCounte can do pretty much everything on the football field. The nation's No. 1 safety and No. 26 overall prospect forces turnovers, blankets receivers in coverage, punishes ballcarriers and scores touchdowns in a variety of ways. The 6-foot, 174-pounder recorded 100 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 10 pass deflections, four forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries on defense last season. He also registered 1,967 total yards and 15 total touchdowns on offense in guiding Liberty County to the second round of the Georgia Class 4A playoffs.
Darnay Holmes, CB, Calabasas (Calif.)The nation's No. 2 cornerback and No. 10 overall prospect is arguably the most versatile playmaker in America. He also piled up 31 tackles, 10 pass deflections, two interceptions, one forced fumble and one blocked field goal on defense. The

Jalen Reagor, WR, Waxahachie (Texas)The nation's No. 15 receiver rips off touchdowns with ease, possesses arguably the surest hands in America and can score from anywhere on the gridiron. The Oklahoma commit posted 1,108 receiving yards, averaged 17 yards a reception and tallied 15 total touchdowns last season for Waxahachie. The 6-2, 182-pounder has clocked in at 4.41 in the 40-yard dash.
Najee Harris,
RB,
Antioch (Calif.)The nation's top-rated running back and No. 1 overall prospect is a special talent. It's absolutely jaw-dropping to watch the 6-3, 226-pound manchild hurdle over tacklers, stiff-arm defenders like rag dolls and outclass the competition. The Alabama commit accounted for nearly 3,000 total yards and 39 TDs in leading the Panthers to an 11-1 mark in 2015.
