The MaxPreps Regional Baseball Rankings saw three regions swap the No. 1 and 2 teams from last week.
In the South, No. 2 Helena (Ala.) replaced West Monroe (La.). In the Northeast, No. 2 William Penn Charter (Philadelphia) knocked Hollidaysburg (Pa.) out. In the Midwest, Jefferson City (Mo.) overtook previous No. 1 Cathedral (Indianapolis).
The
other two No.1 teams remained the same as Huntington Beach (Calif.) is
the top team in the West, while Deer Creek (Edmond, Okla.) leads the Midwest.
The
regional rankings are based on the MaxPreps National Baseball Computer
Rankings. The team's record and computer rating are noted in the
rankings. Numbers are current as of Tuesday.
The 50 states are divided into five regions as follows:
West: Hawaii, California, Nevada, Utah, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Alaska, Colorado.
Southwest: Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona.
South:
Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina,
North Carolina, Florida, Tennessee, Kentucky, Maryland, Virginia.
Midwest: North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Missouri, Nebraska, Kansas.
Northeast:
Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode
Island, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, West Virginia.
States not included: Montana and Wyoming (do not have baseball), Iowa (season is during the summer).
