High school football rankings: Cincinnati power Archbishop Moeller joins MaxPreps Top 25 after 39-31 win over Good Counsel

Archbishop Moeller (Cincinnati) and Mill Creek (Hoschton, Ga.) are the two new teams in this week's MaxPreps Top 25 high school football rankings, replacing Jesuit (Tampa, Fla.) and East St. Louis (Ill.).

The Fighting Crusaders enter at No. 24 after last week's 39-31 win over Good Counsel (Olney, Md.) in which four-star running back Jordan Marshall had 28 carries for 145 yards and four touchdowns. Marshall has rushed for 602 yards and 11 touchdowns this season as the Cincinnati power is 4-0 with notable wins over Washington (Massillon, Ohio) and Trinity (Louisville).

Mill Creek (3-0) becomes the third team from Georgia to enter the MaxPreps Top 25 and the Hawks have the top-rated player in the state and No. 1 safety in five-star Alabama commit Caleb Downs. He impacts the game on all three phases and has been selected on the MaxPreps Freshman, Sophomore and Junior All-America team in each of the last three years.

No. 1 St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.) improved to 3-0 with another dominant performance, beating Central Catholic (Portland, Ore.) 49-0 at Autzen Stadium. The Braves are yet to trail at any point this season and have put the running clock on all three opponents.

No. 7 Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) had one of the most impressive wins last week with a 45-0 shutout of Hamilton (Chandler, Ariz.). The Gaels scored on their first six drives and junior quarterback Micah Alejado completed 13 of 21 for 265 yards and four touchdowns. Senior wide receiver Trech Kekahuna hauled in six receptions for 149 yards and three scores.

No. 9 North Shore (Houston) and No. 10 Chaminade-Madonna (Hollywood, Fla.) both moved up one spot after adding another quality win.

The Mustangs beat Westfield (Houston) 55-25 and increased their win streak to 16. They scored seven first half touchdowns and went into halftime up 48-11.

The Lions are 3-0 with all three wins coming against teams in our expanded top 100. Last week, they put a running clock on Northwestern (Miami) and cruised to a 42-14 win. They beat No. 21 St. John's (Washington, D.C.) 35-28 to start the season and also beat Dillard (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) 49-28. Up next is No. 13 American Heritage (Plantation, Fla.) on Sept. 16.
