DuBois (Pa.) 90, in one of the highest-scoring games in high school football history.
Now, one year later, the two teams meet again in a rematch of a game that made headlines all across the nation. Meadville (0-2) hosts DuBois in search of its first win of the season. Meanwhile, DuBois (1-1) looks to avenge last year's game when it became the first team to score 90 points in a game in high school history and still lose.
The 2015 contest featured a number of mind-numbing numbers:
- Yards by both teams combined: 1,908 total yards (national record for combined yards for both teams).
- Yards rushing by Meadville: 1,004 (setting a national record and breaking old record by 111 yards).
- Yards of offense by Meadville: 1,004 (also a national record, Meadville did not complete a pass).
- Yards passing by DuBois quarterback
Matt Miller: 787 (set a national record according to the National Federation of State High School Associations record book)
- Touchdown passes by Miller: 10 (set a Pennsylvania state record)
- Touchdowns by
Journey Brown: 10 (set a Pennsylvania state record).
- Yards rushing by Brown: 722 (second all-time nationally).
The contest marked the debut of sophomore quarterback Matt Miller. Besides setting the NFHS-recognized national record of 787 yards passing in one game, Miller finished with 3,620 yards passing for the season.
"It was truly remarkable," Miller told reporters following last year's game. "Someone told me after the
game I'd broke the state record. Five minutes later after that someone
told me I'd broke the national record. I had chills go down my spine
thinking about it. I still do.
"It's all pretty shocking that we scored 90 and still lost. It was one crazy game."
A knee injury continues to plague Miller, however, and he has yet to play this season.
Many of the other key players in last year's game return:
- Brown returns after rushing for 2,497 yards and 35 touchdowns last year while earning all-state honors. He's off to a strong start in 2016, rushing for 345 yards on 36 carries with seven touchdowns in two games.

Antonio Ferraro ran for 160 yards and three touchdowns for Meadville. While his total was dwarfed by Brown's epic game, Ferrari had a strong season last year with 1,226 yards rushing and 19 touchdowns.

Colin Read caught nine passes for a Pennsylvania state record 362 yards for DuBois in the loss. He went on to catch 42 passes for 856 yards on the season. He is a member of this year's DuBois team, but has yet to catch a pass.

Braden Paulinellie caught two passes, both for touchdowns, in last year's game. He has moved to quarterback in place of the injured Miller. More of a running threat, Paulinellie leads the team in passing and rushing with 439 yards through the air and 344 yards on the ground.
Can the two teams put together the same fireworks as last year? Meadville is averaging 38 points per game, but is giving up an average of 40 points per outing. Meanwhile DuBois is putting up about 30 points per game and giving up about 25.
Prior to last year's win, Meadville had lost four straight times to DuBois and had given up an average of 54 points per game.
