Memphis East (Tenn.) and
Findlay Prep (Henderson, Nev.) was worth the $15 admission price Saturday night at the Larry Finch Classic in Memphis.
No. 1 Memphis East trailed by as many as 12 points but the tough, battle-tested bunch owned the fourth quarter and prevailed with a 68-57 victory over the No. 8 Pilots.
James Wiseman, the No. 2 junior prospect in the country, fouled out with under four minutes left in a tight four-point game. But the Mustangs turned to their senior leader
Alex Lomax — and he came up clutch. The four-star floor general made all the key plays on both ends of the floor and ignited a key 10-0 run down the stretch. The Wichita State commit ended with 11 points, eight assists, seven rebounds and six steals in the win.
The Mustangs utilized the services of 5-star Wiseman and UAB commit
Ryan Boyce after a temporary restraining order allowed them to play until the next court hearing on Dec. 7.
Five-star prospect
Chandler Lawson tallied a game-high 19 points in the victory.
Jack Schwietz recorded a team-high 16 points for Findlay Prep in a losing effort.
Memphis East improved to 3-0 overall and capable of fulfilling its preseason billing.
