The high school football season in Utah came to a close
over the weekend with championship games in classes 4A, 5A and 6A. Title contests in 2A and 3A were played Nov. 14. Corner Canyon was among the winners, taking
home the trophy in Class 6A following a 45-7 win over Lone Peak (Highland).
That victory, coupled with its 14-0 record and tremendous play this season, makes Corner Canyon the 2020 MaxPreps Champion for the state of Utah.
The Chargers have won three straight state titles and 40 consecutive games overall. Senior quarterback
Jaxson Dart emerged as a major FBS recruit this fall after transferring from Roy High School, finishing the season with 4,691 passing yards and 67 touchdowns against just four
interceptions. The touchdowns were a state single season record. Dart
also rushed for 1,195 yards and 12 scores this fall.
Wide receiver
Noah Kjar is the national leader in receiving yards with 1,918, ranks third in TD catches
(22) and is fourth in receptions (97). He finished as Utah's career
leader in receptions (285).
Corner
Canyon averaged 47.8 points per game while outscoring opponents
669-231.
