Darren Jones of
Cajon (San Bernardino, Calif.) has developed into a nightmare for opposing defensive coordinators this season.
Combining surprising agility with his tough-to-defend frame, Jones has hauled in 61 receptions for 1,407 yards and 19 touchdowns.
According to stats submitted to MaxPreps, he leads the state of California in receiving yards and is among the top five in touchdowns. That production has translated to wins for Cajon, which enters Friday's CIF Southern Section Division 4 playoffs with a 9-1 record.
Jones has topped the 200-yard mark twice, including a season-high 241 yards on just six receptions Sept. 8 against Murrieta Valley.
The SoCal standout is showing promise on the hardwood, as well. Jones played on the Nike EYBL circuit last summer for California United's 16U squad.
