Bronny vs. Emoni: Sierra Canyon to face Ypsi Prep Academy in high school basketball showcase next month

NBA star Danny Green sponsoring Dallas-area showcase Nov. 20-21.

Next month's Battle Basketball Showcase will feature one of the biggest showdowns of the high school season as Bronny James and Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, Calif.) are scheduled to take on Emoni Bates and Ypsi Prep Academy (Ypsilanti, Mich.).

The Showcase will be held at the Allen Event Center in Allen, Texas, Nov. 20-21 with the Bronny vs. Emoni contest taking place on the second day of the event.

Four teams expected to be featured in MaxPreps Preseason Top 25 next month will participate as Hillcrest Prep (Phoenix, Ariz.) and Sunrise Christian Academy (Bel Aire, Kan.) will join Sierra Canyon and Ypsi Prep Academy.

247Sports has Bates pegged as the No. 1 prospect in the Class of 2022. The 6-foot-8 Michigan State commit earned MaxPreps National Sophomore of the Year honors in 2019-20, averaging 32.4 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.2 steals per contest, including an incredible 63-point, 21-rebound performance in February.

After most major summer events were canceled due to COVID-19, this will be the first opportunity to see Bronny James and many other top prospects in action since an abrupt end to the high school season in mid-March.

Other top prospects expected at the event include Michael Foster Jr. of Hillcrest Prep, Kendall Brown and Kennedy Chandler of Sunrise Christian, Amari Bailey and Chance Westry of Sierra Canyon and Jaden Akins and Dillon Hunter of Ypsi Prep Academy.
